The discovery of the ancient leather shoe, which may have been left as
an offering, reminds me of Ceremonial Cave near El Paso. A wide variety
of offerings were found in the cave, along with hundreds of sandals
which also may have been left as offerings. Not nearly as old as the
leather shoe, they date to the Jornada-Mogollon culture, A.D. 700-1450.
