Are there any caves in Fort Bend County? I seriously doubt it.
I live there, and it is mostly swamp. However, according the the web-site for the Texas Land Trust Council. The TCMA is listed as a member for Fort Bend County. http://www.texaslandtrustcouncil.org/land_trusts/directory/gulf_coast/?county=fort%20bend If the TCMA finds a cave within 100 miles of there, I sure would like to see it. I would not be surprised to see that there are some bat habitats in the area. Maybe along the Brazos River in some big trees or under railroad bridges or highway overpasses, such as at Hwy 90 near Richmond. The western half of the county is mostly cow pasture. There will be a new bridge at Hwy 59 and the Brazos river in less than a year. After that, urban sprawl will speed up to a rapid pace into that area. The town of Richmond, and areas around the Brazos River State Park are going to change almost overnight from a rural setting to a suburban one. Quiet little towns like Needville and Rosenberg will also be affected. But I am looking forward to it, because it will put me a few minutes closer to the Sierra Madres.
