The January, 2008 issue of Rock and Ice magazine had an interesting article about bolts. The question was whether or not taking a fall while climbing and being caught by a bolt anchor weakens that bolt. The answer is no, not as long as the bolt was properly torqued. And how tight should a bolt be torqued? Basically as tight as you can get it by hand. The other part of the article discusses bolt failures. (Stainless steel bolts are good!)
