I know that Gilbert Shelton had caving and other associations to both Austin and Gainesville, Florida (UF). I think Bob and Alberta Smith of the Florida Speleological Society knew him. Bob, at least, had a custom (home-)made Wonder Warthog mask that he wore to the FSS Halloween Party every year in the late 1960s.
