On Fusion - I think its been one of those things like a mirage or rainbow - the closer we've thought we were to its grasp - it only turned out to be that much farther out of reach. Unless a quantum solution is discovered to "fake out" matter - A 'net positive' fusion reactor might only be possible with a tokomak the size of a planet.
which leads to the very interesting notion that perhaps we already have one and just dont know how to use it.
