Malaysia is full of fabuloso caving, just like Thailand! Things get less interesting as you approach Singapore, but basically the entire peninsula is a hard rock spine with an encrustation of limestone around both edges. I was once in a Nissan rented by a deranged Aussie orchid thief that we drove right through a big river cave called Gua Ikan (Fish cave, "gua" means cave). We had an Indian slave named Benjamin whose job it was to roll rocks out of the way. One thing is certain, the Q beams beat the heck out of a standard caving light, plus we had AC/DC tapes and a bottle of arak. Very stylish! There is lots of karst right around Kuala Lumpur. I've never been there, but I'll bet there is great caving in Taman Negara (the main National Park). Prepare for leech laden nads, or be like the sissy Brits and wear pantyhose! Sleazeweazel
