I've used snoopy loops for many years on my caving helmet. I called them
utility bands. I always have one (they're just cross-sections of tire inner
tubes cut with scissors about an inch wide) on my helmet, and I can stick
things behind them like Suuntos, a survey book, gloves, Heath Bar, etc. I've
even done a field repair on someone's chin strap using my utility band (now I'm
switching to snoopy loop).
