Folks,

The Edwards Aquifer Authority will be hosting a series of presentations Friday
morning on the Dinaric Karst Transboundary Aquifer System (DIKTAS) project in
the Balkans. As many of you know, the Dinaric Karst is the home of the word
karst and one of the most spectacular karst regions in the world. The Dinaric
Karst also has many international boundary issues related to the management of
water resources in the region. Over the last few days, the EAA has been hosting
governmental representatives from Holland, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Albania, and Montenegro as part of a United Nations Educational, Scientific,
and Cultural Organization UNESCO) visit.

Friday morning presentations will discuss the challenges of managing water
resources across international boundaries in karst.
