There can be some sensible up-sides if tour apps are created like the apps now available for art museum exhibition visits. If done with quality, it could be like having a knowledgeable docent to provide background information on cave features. Or it could just translate yahoo tour guides into a virtual bullsh*t format, with silly formation descriptions, etc.
