According to press reports, a collection of 4,926 well-preserved cave paintings have been discovered near Burgos, Tamaulipas. They are in fact pictographs at eleven shelter caves in the Sierra San Carlos. No date for the paintings has been determined yet. The articles quote Gustavo Ramírez and Martha García Sánchez of INAH.
