If you know anyone planning to visit Carlsbad Caverns this month, have them check the web site (NPS.gov/CAVE <http://nps.gov/CAVE>) to learn the elevator status. As of this morning, this is posted on the site: "There will be no elevator service September 12-29, 2017 to allow replacement of structural steel in the hoistway. Visitors may hike in/out of the steep, 75-story Natural Entrance. Please assess your abilities before attempting this semi-strenuous hike”
