There is a report on one of the Thai News Channels that where the boys are
allegedly stranded that
the speleothems drip fresh water, so there might be enough water dripping
to keep them from dying of
dehydration. ( plus there is all that muddy water in the river )

I assume the boys come from a culture where one is taught at a young age to
meditate. This could come in
very handy in a situation where they are all together in one spot in total
darkness for a week or more. And that
unlike American kids, they are not addicted to pizza and soft-drinks.

The only way I could survive that is if I could live off the fat my body
has accumulated. Those boys are way too
skinny for that. Not to be insensitive, but it is possible they have no
issue with eating crickets, so if they can find
crickets or something similar they could eat enough to survive. But I
would bet they ran out of light days ago.

There is an interview with the president of the British Caving Association,
Andy Eavis. I think I met him at ICS. He said it
would be very hard for someone unaccustomed to the dark to sit comfortably
in total darkness for a week.

Hopefully if they are on the beach area of the cave, and that it is soft
dry sandy, then they can sort of burrow in and
hibernate.

It seems like the authorities should dump a glow-in-the-dark chemical in
the water, or something to let the boys
know a rescue is on the way. They should dump a ton of fish in the cave.

I am just saying I do not see anybody thinking outside the box.

Instead of pumping water out, maybe they could pump air in to the sump, so
that the boys could possibly see the bubbles.

I am surprised that the rescuers have found no sign or proof of the boys in
the cave after a week.

I a sense they are stranded in a way like being stranded on the Moon. It
will be interesting to see them alive and well,
and to hear how they survived. And there are quite a few similarities
to the Chilean Mine incident, yet quite a few things
that are completely different. For example, the miners were accustomed
to hardship underground, and had a safe room
stocked with some snacks.
