>From David Locklear ( please hit delete button now ) 4 years ago, I was posting a few reviews of LED flashlights, and headlamps, but at that time LED lanterns were still crappy. They have come along way, but mostly just inexpensive with better build quality, and not yet fully perfect.
Here is one that I recently purchased at Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Outdoor-Equipment-400-Lumen-LED-Camping-Lantern/55505074 Build quality is excellent for a $ 15 product. No batteries included, but I bought a pack of D's at COSTCO. This lamp is best suited to light up the entire camp area by hanging about 8 feet off the ground on a cord between 2 trees. If you don't need that much light, it has one dim setting. I would recommend putting a reflecting surface behind it so that you are only shining light in the direction you need it. So what is not to like. Having only one dim setting is a bummer. And not having any kind of tiny night-light is a bummer. Not being USB rechargeable might annoy the Millennials. There is no hook on the bottom. It would be nice to have an accessory plastic base to help hold it more firmly on an uneven surface. I would say that if you can find it cheaper than $ 15, say for $ 13, than it officially meets TLSOA, The Locklear Seal of Approval. David P.S. There is still no word or news on the former caver's offspring that I was trying to do a "safety-check" on. I reached out to a former relative, but I was not able to make contact with them. A caver ( one of you ) that were Facebook friends with them, indicated that she posted something vague on the 8th. One of my clients at work is also their Facebook friend, and said they saw the Feb. 8th post. My concern, being the pessimist, is that maybe someone else has control of their account. Their Instagram page seems to have vanished in the past 2 weeks. There was another Instagram page, that showed something I can not talk about. I could over-react and say now that they have been missing 5 days, but as some of you pointed out, it is none of my business, and they might be p*ssed off at me for snooping around on their social media and dragging their laundry out in public. I assure you that I have no nefarious motives or agenda. All they had to do was post a smiley emoji somewhere letting someone know that they were okay, or text me the finger-symbol. Some of you were Facebook friends with their dad, Tinker Bucksnort. Please look on his page for any clues. https://www.facebook.com/tinker.bucksnort I can not view it. They may not have even known their dad was on Facebook.
