We rode the train to DF and then took the Flecha Roja. Linn was pals of Janey White, Tom White's widow. She might have a clue. On Mon, Apr 29, 2019 at 2:53 PM William R. So, I put the photos on Dropbox at: [ https://www.dropbox.com/sh/eajv6yuouvxhfdk/AAAczCLT4hh9gq0NrxvIFK3Wa?dl=0 | https://www.dropbox.com/sh/eajv6yuouvxhfdk/AAAczCLT4hh9gq0NrxvIFK3Wa?dl=0 ] You can click or use that hyperlink to get them (about 4MB). Meanwhile here's the message... Mike Collins was a geologist-caver at UT in the late 1960s, and his wife was Linn Collins. I knew Mike but have lost track of him. I [tried to attach] a couple of photos of Mike and friends. I'll forward the question about Mike's whereabouts to some old timers. Photo 1. Look in the recent AMCS Bulletin 26 on p. 165 for a photo by Bob Mitchell of Mike rigging the entrance of Sótano del Tigre in the Sierra de El Abra, along with James Reddell, Joe Cepeda, Jerry Broadus, Linn Collins, and two guides. That was Feb. 1, 1968, 51 years ago. Mike was sort of famous for photographing a tigre (jaguar) on a ledge near the entrance of Sótano del Tigre. People sometimes confused him with Michael Collins, the Texas archaeologist. Photo 2. Cavers in the woods near Sótano del Tigre, left to right: Linn Collins, Joe Cepeda, Jerry Broadus, Mike Collins, James Reddell (by Bob Mitchell, Feb. 1, 1968). Thanks, William R.
