In a geologic way this is cave related.  The San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance promotes purchasing environmentally sensitive land around San Marcos to protect the land by making it parkland with a greenbelt trail system. This land is mostly aquifer recharge zone.  Please consider helping them get this funding.  See Below an excerpt from their newsletter:
