I write this email to draw your attention to the post http://forum.texmacs.cn/t/file-locks-in-texmacs/1212 . It seems that the current implementation imposes that, in order that a file opens, locks via flock() could be applied, under Unix-like systems. This seems to be an unnecessary restriction on the underlying filesystem, in particular when TeXmacs opens a file on a mounted filesystem, not necessarily local.
