This is a curse on indian politics. Nobody can deny the fact that rahul gandhi is instrumental in bringing youth to indian political scenerio other wise dominated by several elders lying in death bed. this election showed max no of youths as MP and average age of MPs came down to approx 50. Till date rahul gandhi is lying low without aspiration of post and eencouraging youths to cime in to main stream of indian political scenerio. To day a 26 year person is MP . Is it not a good sign? If Karunanidhi criticises Rahul Gandhi taking over as PM, then people may accuse him of committing the same mistake. He also questioned the State unit’s wisdom in rushing to New Delhi to seek advice on the state’s developmental issues about which the local unit of the Congress party was obviously better informed. Annadurai was one of the originators of the ‘separate nation for Tamils’ demand. The demand weakened into a demand for ‘autonomy’ after Jawaharlal Nehru legislatively defined such a demand as secession, punishable with a jail term. In typical Dravidian party style, Annadurai & Co withdrew the demand for a separate Tamil nation. * * * *Be that as it may, Annadurai did not like the state leaders rushing to New Delhi at the slightest provocation for resolution of the developmental issues, which confronted the State. After all, the local leaders were familiar with the local developmental issues and hence were better placed to decide on such issues. He was equally critical of a single family ruling over the country (albeit after being democratically chosen to do so) and labelled the local Congress leaders as ‘spineless creatures’ for their acquiescence in the arrangement. He accused the Congress party members of being party to the act of perpetuation of dynastic rule. * * * *Now, Annadurai’s one-time protégé, presently the sole proprietor of the DMK and the self-proclaimed guardian of the ‘honour and dignity of the Tamils’, Karunanidhi, (Tamils, for this purpose, are defined as those who fall in line with his diktat) has welcomed the idea of projecting Rahul Gandhi as the UPA's Prime Ministerial candidate at the Lok Sabha polls! How ideologies are conveniently redefined by selfish politicians! "I will be happy if he is made the Prime Ministerial candidate," Karunanidhi told reporters in Chennai, in reply to a question. What better way to thank the son of Rajiv Gandhi, on whose assassination the DMK boss shed not a drop of tear!* * * *What is the reason behind this volte-face on the part of the guardian of the “honour and dignity” of the Tamils? (Please remember, but for Karunanidhi, the Tamils would never have got their due. As a matter of fact, before Karunanidhi arrived on this planet, the Tamils were looked down upon and crushed. No Tamil had made to the national or international stage). In fact, after the DMK and the AIADMK, in that order, ensured that walls, flyovers, buildings, etc, all over Tamilnadu were daubed with charcoal graffiti of the vulgar kind, the Tamils or for that matter, the Tamil language got its due. * * * *Karunanidhi’s son, M K Stalin is being readied to take over the family-owned DMK from his father (and protector of Tamil honour and dignity), Karunanidhi. If Karunanidhi criticises Rahul Gandhi taking over what is essentially a family-owned office (of the Prime Minister of India), then people may accuse Karunanidhi of committing the same mistake. So the wily Karunanidhi does not want to be caught on the wrong foot. * * * *As a matter of fact, the precedent set by the Congress party has given rise to the birth of many such ‘born-to-rule families’ in the country. * *In Karnataka, the JD(S) has become a family-owned concern. If and when JD(S) comes to power, the CM will be one of Deve Gowda’s sons until of course the sons of the said sons fight over the CM’s chair. Going by evidence available, the sons of the sons have been moving in the right direction, at the right pace, excelling in the skill sets required for the purpose. In fact Kumaraswamy’s son gave ample evidence of his maturity when he beat up the employees and management of a bar early in the morning for refusing to serve him food. Hopefully, the sons of Kumaraswamy’s brothers have also matured. * * * *Meanwhile, afraid of being dropped from the Cabinet after the Lok Sabha elections, some senile leaders of the Congress party have already initiated measures to ensure that they are accommodated in the next government too. The HRD boss, Arjun Singh, has set the ball rolling by stating what Karunanidhi has just stated. Whoever said power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, was dead right!
