*Mind blowing expression to the reality. I salute to thee as a son who dedicated your service to the nation. cnu.pne*
. I would like to add that both mythology and history tell us to adopt to changing environment. Vishwamithra a kshathriya turned to a rishi (Brahma Rishi) is held in high esteem as giver of Gayathri Manthra and Friend of the world. Parasurama a Brahmin turned into kshatriya to avenge parents murder. Chanakya turned to a strategist and an economist (wrote Artha sastra -Vysya in effect). King Vikramaditya, Patti his minister and two other brothes of him were all born to a Brahmin through four different wives, brahmin, kshatriya, vysya and Sudra. I would definitely help a Brahmin if he excels( which he is supposed to) but not a useless person because he is a brahmin. Being a brahmin I became Kshatriya by joining defence. I became Vysya (and I am still ) when I was heading Marketing and was a profit center head in reputed companies and now a days when actively involved in Share market trading. I was a Brahmin When I was Heading Training Funtion and head of the dept for info technology in an Engineering College for a short duration and when I taught In National school way back in 1970 at Calcutta. I educate and offer consultancy in Mkt related topics @ the age of 61. I am a Sudra when I do jobs like cleaning utensils, polishing my shoes etc. Varnashrama came depending on a role one adopted. Social stratification was due to profession and not due to birth. Inheritance of professions ( Raja's son Raja, Karuna nidhi's son next CM Nehru dynsty or all later additions) As a HINDU I feel we must do all necessary things to preserve vedas, temples, cultures and heritage related things; help the needy; learn about as many things as possible. As Brahmins there is no Short cut to excelling by hard work. Do Not Brood that we are a neglected lot. Have fire to come up.As parents/ thatha patis we have to motivate our children/ grand children. Example: Chanakya. These are my personal views and I would like to hold them against any criticism Thanks and regards, Major Bala Iyer
