Jagat guru Shankaracharya Sri Jayendra saraswati sawamigal of Kanchi
Kamakoti Peetam duuring his vijaya yatra camped in pune for ten days. I was
fortunate enough to be his pilot through out his stay. During his stay he
visited Harijan basti and adddressed them. It was rare sight,whole
population asembled to hear him after taking bath and listened to him with
pin drop silence and bhav bhakti. Later in the while adddressing in sindh
House a posh locality he said that harijan does not mean outcasted people
but very close to vishnu as hari means vishnu and jan means persons. This
reminds me Sage Narad Muni when he asked lord Vishnu who is gretest devotee
of lord vishnu
