Q1         How long did people live 3,000 yearsago? How do we know what was the
average human life span/life expectancy backthen?

A1          Mats Andersson March 10 Translator (1991–present)

3,000 years ago isn’t all that difficult; we have a handful of writtensources,
and there are burial sites (and random human remains from e.g.
naturaldisasters) scattered all over the world.

You need to take care regarding the written sources; some are obviously made up
orexaggerated. But you can find clues such as when they describe a manas
“venerably old” when he’s over 50, or conversely, say that “she was still inher
prime” of a woman of 60, or other more indirect clues such as when
theyobviously don’t think that something is especially noteworthy, such as
being still alive tohave great-grandchildren around.

Skeletons can tell us with reasonable certainty the age at which someonedied.
The skeleton maturesuntil the mid-20s, and after that, wear and tear will start
to show. With enough skeletons, we can start to tell with some certainty how
long peopleon average lived. As a last calibration, we can compare with modern
peopleliving similar lifestyles.

3,000 years ago, we hadsubsistence farmers, some hunter-gatherers, and in some
societies a fewspecialists, like merchants, priests, and nobility.

All those groups have been around until more well documented times (butstill
well before modern medicine was introduced), and we can expect them tohave had
similar life spans.

Sometimes, you see figures about “average life span” from the past whichare
usually a bit misleading. Infant mortality was very high, but once youreached
about 5 years of age, it would look more like the modern day: mortality was
still higher thantoday in all age groups, but you had a reasonable chance of
livinginto your 60s. So even if the life expectancy at birth was, say, a meagre
35years, they would stillnot consider someone who was 60 to be incredibly
ancient, and there would besomeone over in the next village, or the village
after that, who was above 80.

Q2         If our ancestors reproduced asteenagers, why is teen pregnancy
considered undesirable in the modern Westernworld?

A2          Alan Moll   knowsGenealogy, Philately, Cosmology, Data Analysis,

All or the answers assume that the question if correct. The ancestors I’ve
researched in17th and 18th centuries in Germany, seldom had children prior to
age20. A typical age ofmarriage was 21 for the woman and 24 for the man.
Results in Sweden weresimilar.

Q3         Can gold easily be scratched?

A3          Eesha Sharma , studied Mechanical Engineering at OsmaniaUniversity

Pure gold is so soft, itbends and warps easily, making it a poor metal for
jewelry that needs to retain its shape.

Pure gold also scratches easily, meaning it doesn't take longfor pure gold
jewelry to become scuffed and unattractive

Q4         If hell doesn't exist according toHinduism, then why does Garuda
Purana about hell? Some Hindus said that hellexist but not eternity. So why
does one still born in a poor family if hiskarma has paid?

A4          Mahesh K Reader at MIT Vedic Sciences (2020–present)12m ago

Maha Puranas focus on the whole spectrum of creator, creation andcreative
dynamics… all within the scope of the Self .. birth itself is continuum
withkarma or impressions as a revealer.. hence pitra loka is aspect ofcarry
forward of impressions which is unique aspect of revealing the
birthprinciple..a person'sbirth can be with naraka aspects or svarga aspects..
Karma therefore is thebiggest revealer..

You may not understand this if your mind is limited to heaven and hell
ofAbrahamic discourse.

Q5         If humans evolved in Africa, why has nopermanent structures been
built in Africa before the Europeans? OxfordUniversity was built in 1096.

A5          Roger Burton Lived in Unnecessary Spending 5m ago

It took humans 100's of thousandsof years to learn to build something that
would last that was bigger than apointed stone on the end of spear.

Early humans built what they needed with materials they could easilyfind. Huts
made withmud and grass are hardly durable and cant expect to last hundreds of
thousandsof years, but on the plains of sub saharan Africa living a
huntergatherer life quick and easy shelter if any shelter at all was all they
needed.

Not sure what Oxford University has to do with anything its hardly theoldest
building in Europe.

Q7         Which is not a function of the cellmembrane?

A7          4 Answers Crystal Day , Scientist Answered September 6,2019

I could go with so many possibilities here. But since you didn’t providea list
to choose from,

I’ll go with driving. Driving is not a function of the cell membrane. But also
reading.Reading is also not a function of the cell membrane. I could goeither
way on this one. I feel driving is the better answer of the two optionsI’ve
listed.

Parth Patel , lives in Ahmedabad,Gujarat, IndiaAnswered December 10, 2018

Production of energy is not function of cell membrane.. It is done
inMitochondria

DNA is responsible for Heredity.

Movement and stability is function of cytoskeleton

Photosynthesis is possible because of chloroplast

Protein synthesis is possible because of ribosome

Digestion is function of lysosome

Modification of protein and synthesis of glycoprotein and lipoprotein isdone in
golgi apparatus

And many other functions arenot done by cell membrane..

The function which is not perform by plasma membrane are

    Plasma membrane do not storefood

    It does not produces energy

    Plasma membrane not helps inphotosynghesis

It does not carry genetic material

Its does not produce lipids andproteins

Nots help in exchange of gases

Does not store food, starch andorganic substance

    It's does not transportproteins

So these are not function of plasma membrane

Q8                    Howdo I maintain blood sugar levels?

A8          Sagar Manral , BSc Army Public Schools & Army PublicSchools,
University of Delhi (2014) Answered 7h ago

My note- I found the answer quite enlightening and included.Lengthy answer

Manage Blood Sugar

It’s important to keep your blood sugar levels in your target range asmuch as
possible to help preventor delay long-term, serious health problems, such as
heart disease, visionloss, and kidney disease.

Staying in your target range can also help improve your energy and mood.Find
answers below to common questions about blood sugar for people withdiabetes.

How can you check your bloodsugar?

Use a blood sugar meter (also called a glucometer) or a continuousglucose
monitor (CGM) to check your blood sugar. A blood sugar meter measuresthe amount
of sugar in a small sample of blood, usually from your fingertip. ACGM uses a
sensor inserted under the skin to measure your blood sugar every fewminutes. If
you use aCGM, you’ll still need to test daily with a blood sugar meter to make
sure yourCGM readings are accurate.

When you should check yourblood sugar?

How often you check your blood sugar depends on the type of diabetes youhave
and if you take any diabetes medicines.

Typical times to check your blood sugar include:

When you first wake up, beforeyou eat or drink anything.

Before a meal.    Two hours after a meal.    At bedtime.

If you have type 1 diabetes, have type 2 diabetes, and take insulin, or
often have low blood sugar, your doctor may want you tocheck your blood sugar
more often, such as before and after you’re physicallyactive.

What are blood sugar targets?

A blood sugar target is a range you try to reach as much as possible. These are
typical targets:

Before a meal: 80 to 130 mg/dL.

Two hours after the start of a meal: Less than 180 mg/dL.

Your blood sugar targets may be differentdepending on your age, any
additionalhealth problems you have, and other factors. Be sure to talk to your
health care team about which targets are bestfor you.

What causes low blood sugar?

Low blood sugar (also called hypoglycemia) has many causes, including missing a
meal, takingtoo much insulin, taking other diabetes medicines, exercising more
than normal,and drinking alcohol.

Blood sugar below 70 mg/dL is considered low.

Signs of low blood sugar are different for everyone. Common symptomsinclude:

    Shaking.    Sweating.   Nervousness or anxiety.

    Irritability or confusion.    Dizziness.    Hunger.

My note- If insulin intake is more for the food taken, I feel dizziness. This
occurs to me when the dishesare not liked. I keepsweet biscuits and water ready
with me on such occasions. In journey bag I carry sugarand water in a small
bottle.

Know what your individual symptoms are so you can catch low blood sugarearly
and treat it. If you think you may have low blood sugar, check it even ifyou
don’t have symptoms. Low blood sugar can be dangerous andshould be treated as
soon as possible.

How can you treat low bloodsugar?

Hypoglycemia Unawareness

If you’ve had low blood sugar without feeling or noticing symptoms(hypoglycemia
unawareness), you may need to check your blood sugar more oftento see if it’s
low and treat it. Driving with low blood sugar can be dangerous, so be sure to
check yourblood sugar before you get behind the wheel.

Carry supplies for treating low blood sugar with you. If you feel shaky, sweaty,
or very hungry, or have other symptoms, check your blood sugar. Even ifyou
don’t have symptoms but think you may have low blood sugar, check it. If your
blood sugar is lower than 70 mg/dL, do one of the followingimmediately:

Take four glucose tablets. Drink four ounces of fruit juice.Drink fourounces of
regular soda, not diet soda.Eat four pieces of hard candy.

Wait for 15 minutes and then check your blood sugar again. Do one of the above
treatmentsagain until your blood sugar is 70 mg/dL or above and eat a snack if
your nextmeal is an hour or more away. If you have problems with low
bloodsugar, ask your doctor if your treatment plan needs to be changed.

What causes blood sugar to behigh?

Many things can cause high blood sugar (hyperglycemia), including beingsick,
being stressed, eating more than planned, and not giving yourself enough
insulin.Over time, high blood sugar can lead to long-term, serious health
problems.

Symptoms of high blood sugarinclude:

Feeling very tired.     Feeling thirsty.    Having a blurry vision.
Needing to urinate (pee) more often.

If you get sick, your blood sugar can be hard to manage. You may not beable to
eat or drink as much as usual, which can affect blood sugar levels.

If you’re ill and your blood sugar is 240 mg/dL or above, use
anover-the-counter ketone test kit to check your urine for ketones and call
yourdoctor if your ketones are high. High ketones can be an early sign of
diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a medical emergency and needs to be treated
immediately.

What is diabeticketoacidosis(DKA).

Diabetic Glucometer Blood sugar level testing kit

If you think you may have low blood sugar, check it even if you don’thave
symptoms.

When too many ketones are produced too fast, they can build up in yourbody and
cause diabetic ketoacidosis, or DKA. DKA is very serious and can cause a coma
or even death.Common symptoms include:

Fast, deep breathing.    Dry skinand mouth.    Flushed face.

Frequent urination or thirst that lasts for a day or more.    Fruity-smelling
breath.   Headache.    Muscle stiffness oraches.

    Nausea and vomiting.    Stomach pain.

If you think you may have DKA, test your urine for ketones. Follow the testkit
directions, checking the color of the test strip against the color chart inthe
kit to see your ketone level. If your ketones are high, call your healthcare
provider right away. DKA requires treatment in a hospital.

My note- Normally Ketone should be negative on urine test

How can you treat high bloodsugar?

Talk to your doctor about how to keep your blood sugar levels within yourtarget
range. Your doctor may suggest the following:

Be more active. Regular exercise can help keep your blood sugarlevels on track.
Important:don’t exercise if ketones are present in your urine. This can make
your bloodsugar go even higher.

Take medicine as instructed. If your blood sugar is often high, yourdoctor may
change how much medicine you take or when you take it.

Follow your diabetes meal plan. Ask your doctor or dietitian for help ifyou’re
having trouble sticking to it.

Check your blood sugar as directed by your doctor.

Check more often if you’re sickor if you’re concerned about high or low blood
sugar.

Talk to your doctor about adjusting how much insulin you take and whattypes of
insulin (such as short-acting) to use.

My note- I often listen to Doctor QA in Doordarshan/flower TV channels inthe
night. Mostly doctors describe things and interrupted by the question. Icould
understand  if blood sugar is morewith a person got covid 19, chances of black
funges developing is more. Doctor was advocating importance ofkeeping blood
sugar levels NOT HIGH. High blood sugar may not be felt easily.

What is the A1C test?

The A1C test is a simple blood test that measures your average bloodsugar
levels over the past 2 or 3 months. The test is done at a lab or yourdoctor’s
office in addition to—not instead of—regular blood sugartesting you do yourself.

A1C testing is part of the ABCs of diabetes—important steps you can taketo
prevent or delay health complications down the road:

Get a regular A1C test.    Try tokeep your blood pressure below 140/90 mm Hg
(or the target your doctor sets).    Manage your cholesterol levels.    Stop
smoking or don’t start.

What else you can do to helpmanage my blood sugar levels?

Eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables, maintaining ahealthy
weight, andgetting regular physical activity can all help. Other tips include:

Keep track of your blood sugar levels to see what makes them go up ordown.

Eat at regular times, and don’t skip meals.

Choose foods lower in calories, saturated fat, trans fat, sugar, andsalt.Track
your food, drink, and physical activity.Drink water instead of juice or soda.

Limit alcoholic drinks.    For asweet treat, choose fruit.

My note- With covid 19 walkingis not advised. Somegardening and miscellaneous
works can be carried out wearing DOUBLE mask with in home. Not putting ON AC
slightsweating occur on body which could reduce blood sugar levels. Normally
agedabove 70 eat less. Now Accu-checkhas come with an excellent offer – 100
test strips and 25 test pins in a packcosting about 1100-00. I think it is an
affordable offer.(Not  for reccomeding accucheck)
