Q1         What is the biggest mind blow ever?

A1          Kshitij Dhariwal B.Tech.from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology
(Expected 2023)Updated September 25,2017

JUPITER DOES NOT ORBIT THE SUN.

Yes what we have learnt in school has been proved tobe incorrect.

The mass of Jupiter is actually 2.5 times than the mass of all the otherplanets
combined. It has been shown that the planets and the sun revolve arounda common
center of gravity (called the bary center ) which depends on the massof the two
bodies.

Planets are usually too smallcompared to the sun. Hence thecommon center of
gravity lies near the center of the sun, thereby making itappear that the
planet revolves around the sun.

On the other hand Jupiter ismuch bigger. Thus, the common center of gravity lies
just outsidethe sun’s surface.

Hence both Jupiter and the sun revolve around this point. This even makesthe
sun wobble a bit!

Yes like charges repeleach other while unlike charges attract each other.

It is the basic property of charge. According to this property, if I havetwo
charges that are same or like they will repel each other. Suppose I have
twocharges ( both are positive) they are gonna repel each other.

Experiment to prove thisproperty

Ok!!! I haven't read this experiment in my textbooks but this experimentwill
surely work!!!

Suppose I have a object that has some charge. Let this object be named asGlass
Rod.

How do I know that a body or object has charge? You can detect thepresence of
charge on a body by the use of Electroscope.

By convention, we know that when we rub a glass rod with a piece of silkcloth,
the glass rod attains positive charge.

Now, bring another glass rod that is charged in the same way to thischarged
glass rod. What we see is that the both glass rod started to repel eachother..

Both glass rod are charged by the same method ( i.e by rubbing with silkcloth)
it means that both of the glass rods are having same charge or say
likecharge. So, it is clear that the like charges repel each other.

Q3         What is the multiverse?

A3          Chintu Karthi Knownwanderer in an unknown UniverseAugust 31, 2017

Let's start from basic,

We live in earth and the earthis a part of solar systemwhere as number  of
solar system combinedis called a galaxy and number of galaxies combined to form
a universewhich is everything till some point in our history of physics!

Later scientists found that ouruniverse is not alone and there are number  of
universes which is infinite itself which isnamed as multiverse!

The theory of multiverse comes from string theory.

To know about string theory and how the universe is made check out myanswer here

Chintu Karthi's answer to How did the universe come into being?

Our universe vibrates at afrequency so all thosethings starting from us, the
cars on the road, our pets and everything that youcan see is vibrating at a
frequency which we can perceive

According to physicists like Brian greene, the concept of multiversedeals with
universe and everything within it vibrating at a frequency slightlydifferent
from our universe frequency which causes the Parallel reality!

And what does parallel reality means is say for eg ) you are an engineerin this
universe working as a software developer

But the thing is in the other universe you may be the same person ordifferent
and working as a doctor ‍⚕️ or someone else which is slightly different fromthe
this reality!

Funny example is banana whichis considered as having slippery characteristics
may don't have itscharacteristics in the parallel universe and even it can be
slipped by something which has its characteristics!

So no of universe is termed as multiverse.

And this is all about the universe and the multiverse!

Q4         Is there scientific evidence of the law of attraction?

A4          Knowing Physics FormerIndustrial Engineer /Professor MBA17h ago

Yes there is evidence. A spoon kept at a distance from a cup attracts it but
the force is so minimumthat it is not give displacement in the cup.

The gravitational force is the weakest force among the four fundamentalforces
in the nature whatbinds a planet with its star ? Why it revolves? These all are
the prove ofgravitational attraction ..

Q5         If I'm a being in 5th or 6th dimension, can I go to placewhere there
is no time?

A5          Ruchir Mathur Trying tobe horizontal, not vertical.July 14, 2016

According to recent theories of string theorists , there should be 11
dimensions, each of them being consecutive, meaning that you cannot skip a
dimension.

For e.g. take third dimension. You can say that only height exists whichis
independent of length and width. This statement is obviously not true asyou
cannot distinguish whether it is height or length or width with just one ofthem
being present.

But this is not the case with time which governs the properties of allknown
matter at any given point. Along with the three other dimensions, knowing an
objects position intime is essential to plotting its position in the universe.
The otherdimensions are where the deeper possibilities come into play, and
explainingtheir interaction with the others is where things get particularly
tricky.

According to Superstring Theory, the fifth and sixth dimensions are wherethe
notion of possible worlds arises. If we could see on through to the fifth
dimension, we would see a worldslightly different from our own that would give
us a means of measuring thesimilarity and differences between our world and
other possible ones.

In the sixth, we would see aplane of possible worlds, where we could compare
and position all the possible universes that start with the sameinitial
conditions as this one (i.e. the Big Bang). In theory if you couldmaster the
fifth as well as the sixth dimension, you could manipulate time.

As far as concerned for the bigbang, time could well not exist as the lower
three dimensions were reduced to infinitely small space( This theory canwork
inside a blackhole).

But the fifth and sixth dimension are not affected by such a change in
auniverse, floating in a infinitely large volume of sea of universes.

Q6         How can I reduce my exposure to background gamma radiation?

A6          Stephen Frantz FormerDirector of the Reed College Nuclear Reactor
August 14, 2017

You can reduce your exposure to background gamma radiation by avoidingthe
sources of gamma radiation.

Move to a lower elevation to let the earth’s atmosphere block cosmicradiation.

Never take an airline flight.

Avoid living near the earth’s poles where the earth’s magnetic field
letsthrough more cosmic radiation.

Stay away from areas which are high in uranium, thorium, potassium,
etc.Granite, many types of sand like monazite, etc. will contain them.

Avoid building made with materials that might include those elements. A wood
house is best.A cave is worse. Granite countertops emit gamma radiation.

Don’t live downwind of a coal plant; they emit more radiation than anuclear
power plant. Also avoid nuclear power plants.

Living in the basement willreduce your dose from cosmic radiation, but the
ground will probably emit some gammas. See a note at the end of this
answerregarding radon.

Avoid foods that includepotassium, like bananas.

Avoid foods grown in areas with potassium, uranium, thorium, etc. in thesoil.

Sleep alone. The potassium in the body lying next to you will irradiateyou with
gamma radiation.

Live in constant fear thatsomeone near you may have something on them that
might expose you to gammaradiation without your knowledge.

To really reduce your background radiation exposure, join the Navy’ssubmarine
service. Virtually no cosmic rays since you are under water, noterrestrial
sources since you aren't near rocks or similar building materials,no radon from
the soil, no coal plants, etc. The lowest dose rate I ever hadwas when I was on
the sub, even though I worked in the nuclear spaces.

For the US and parts of Canada, here is a map of gamma radiation so youknow
where to move to. Florida looks good. Here is a map of cosmic radiationduring a
solar storm. Avoid living near the poles.

If you also want to avoidx-rays, which are similar to gamma radiation, stay
away from doctor’s officesand hospitals.

Since background gamma radiation has never been shown to have any
negativehealth effects, doing all this will be a waste of time.

It could easily make you less safe if you increase your other risks(e.g.,
moving to a new location, driving an extra mile to work, stress due toworrying).

You only asked about gamma radiation. Living in a basement willsignificantly
increase your exposure to radon which is much more dangerous, butradon
emitsalphas particles, and you specified gamma.

Q7         Why did Einstein take physics and not other subjects? Howdid
Einstein develop so many theories in physics?

Afsana Azim Former Enthusiastic learner about Science June 25

It's like asking why Ramanujanchose math over physics. In one word he was
‘Curious’ to know the mystery of the nature which people find it to beeither an
accident or miracle.

He said himself due to my being passionate and focused, I came to know agreat
deal of space and time. Like his General theory of relativity solves theproblem
of orbiting Mercury.
