Pranam
The comparison of Maha mrityunjaya mantra with Gayathri is not in
order. Many mantras have exclusive significance. Mrityunjaya arising out of
the 12th verse of Rig veda 7.59 is in depth briefing what one shall aspire.
 तर्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम |
उर्वारुकमिवबन्धनान मर्त्योर्मुक्षीय माम्र्तात ||
tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sughandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam |
urvārukamivabandhanān mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt ||
Simple meaning Grace me in attaining Mukthi. However it is a prayer to
three eyed Siva; give me a good smell ; make me healthy (pushti); then why
all those who are craving for the mukthi?. While I am living here I need a
good smell and trim health. Even to do one,s karma and Bhakti, health is
needed.
Then it is time to leave; can any one leave on own accord?; NO; what
is the nature of any fruit or grown product of a tree?; when ripe they all
fall down to earth naturally; even when binded by strong chord the nature
of falling is inevitable; all; a wind can blow all of them to earth; but
there is one product CUCUMBER; cucumber has a lot of seeds inside; its
weight is significant; it can sway in the air; the chord is so thin as if
a tender nylon thread holding it; yet that cucumber would never fall to the
earth at all. It can go down low due to weight but never would fall. The
cucumber shall only be harvested by a farmer or tree owner or a passerby by
cutting down the chord, asunder. Suppose there is heavy pressure in nature
exerted over the cucumber, then either over ripening or pressure, would
ONLY burst the cucumber spo that all seeds are scattered to earth; and
again growth would arise of those seeds which ever has the karma to grow.
So if the farmer does not cut it down, it is growing again as different
cucumbers.
So while living here, make me healthy; when i have to leave this
body, as a farmer please remove me as a cucumber is removed from the tree
(urvaruham). The farmer can be only three eyed Siva. And when that farmer
smoothly cuts it down , please give me mukthi. Enough?; suppose after
enjoying the goodness with HIM for some time , for Karma if I am resorn
again?. (B G recites the same thing also). So mukthi is needed, but if I
am given the amirtham, I am eternal and I do not have any rebirth. There is
a plausibility of bursting also, scattering the seeds; live, eat and drink
and procreate and repeat punarapi; that shall also not happen. Thus the
whole philosophy of our life is stitched in 2 lines . When asking the god a
boon, one must be careful; nithya tvam may become the Nidhratvam. So
carefully praying to that only three eyed Shiva, covering the vedic
Philosophy. Hence this mantra is great ( as read from the text) . KR IRS
