Q1            What is the differencebetween South Indian filter coffee and drip
coffee?

A1            Somprasad R. Poudel,P.G.D.H.M. ( Hotel Management & Tourism
study)Answered Aug 21, 2019

I had used both equipment and Coffee powder. I am just writing myexperience
below.

South Indian filter Coffee.👇👇☕

South Indian coffee is obtained by powder of mixing of Arabica andRobusta
coffee. Robusta is produced more than 95% of the total coffee cultivationdone
in Wayanad,” it added. Chikmagalur Arabica Coffee and BababudangirisArabica
Coffee are both grown in Chikmagalur district, Karnataka which is also known
asthe birthplace of coffee in the country.

Making in steel pot by filling coffee first and pouring warm water in it,normal
water may be ok. It will get stained on bottom tray. Staining period may be
more than 6 hours(See my note).Liquid extract is later used for Coffee making,
Coffee is prepared by diluting   withhot water or Milk.

Taste : bitter, smoky, less aroma of coffee.

But Drip Coffee ☕☕ 👇👇

Same breed of Coffee Arabica and Robusta in powder form. Westerntechnical
advancement of filtering it with steamed water and coffee is extracted in a
machinewith the help of filter paper. Hot coffee is directly collected onbottom
glass tray and poured directly in Coffee mug. Time consumed is less than3 to 4
minutes.

Taste: Less Bitter, more aroma of coffee.

Basically yes definitelyDifferences are there I mentioned 👆.

My note- In small filters madein  stainless steel the staining periodis maximum
15 minutes. If thegrounding is slightly rough, staining period would be still
less. Inrestaurants, the filters are large and may take above one hour to
obtain  all decoction.

Q2            Between North, South,East, and West India, which regions are
doing better commercially?

A2            GopalkrishnaVishwanath True Indian, who feels at home anywhere in
India.21h

I believe it is western Indiathat is leading the country.Followed by South
India. Both are doing far better than North India and EastIndia.

Western India includes four of the commercially most important cities ofIndia,
and they are Mumbai (the financial capital of India), Ahmedabad,Surat, and
Pune.South India has Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, andVisakhapatnam.

In the north, I can list onlyone city and that is Delhi.

In the East, only Kolkatacan be considered a commercially important city.

My list of the 10 commercially most important cities of India is:

Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata,Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Surat,
and Vishakhapatnam.

These are my impressions. I am unable to quote statistics in support.Feelfree
to contradict me and tell me your impressions and your list of the
10commercially most important cities of India if you don’t agree.

My note- I think Ernakulam alsohas to be included as one of the south Indian
cities.

in the country is very green andthere are vast meadows everywhere?

A4            Claire Jordan Degreein biology and folklore; programmer, shop

Not just England but all over theBritish Isles, especially in Ireland.
Everything is covered with grass or moss or rushes, except for the topsof high
mountains. Standstill too long and something might start growing up your leg.
That’s a joke, but not much of one - life grows everywhere here. You’ll even see
illuminatedstreet signs that have ferns growing inside them, and bushes growing
out of thegutters of buildings, and flowerssprouting out of the cracks between
bricks in a wall..

Q6            What do you do toconserve energy? For example, do you turn the
lights off when you leave theroom?

A6            Gopala Krishnan, former Assistant General Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966-2004)Answered just now

Present day construction of flats and homes require light in certain rooms in
daytime also. So mostly we have to use light in such rooms. LED tubesand bulbs
require lesser energy. Where sufficient light is there lights areswitched off
in the day time. Fans, air conditioners etc. are used only whenused. Compound
lighting is switched off in day time or the ones which can beswitched off in
night also switched OFF after 9PM. It has become the order ofthe day to light
all rooms except bed rooms in the evenings. Bath room light is kept switchedON
so that when enter one can watch any creatures are entered in spite of
bestwashing and sanitary items are used.

Q7            Why are mammals oftencalled simply "animals", when in fact most
animals are insects?

A7            Ken Saladin Formerprofessor of histology (microscopic anatomy) 23h

So many people don’t know the difference between animal and mammal. It’scorrect
to say that mammalsare animals, but so are sponges, jellyfish, worms, insects,
crabs, fish, andsnakes.

What peeves me is when people use expressions like “animals, birds, andfish” or
“I’ll eat fish and chicken, but not animals.” I know they meanmammals, but it
doesshow a gap in the speaker’s education.

But it’s not worth making a big pedantic point over it. I have some
good,long-term friends who speak like that. One, in particular, would think
nothingof saying, “Me and Debby went on a walk yesterday and seen lots of birds
andanimals. Debby’s just glad we ain’t seen no snakes.” But we’ve been friends
forover 20 years and we meet for breakfast once a week. I’m not his

Q8            Do water filtersalkalize water?

A8            Data Val , formerReceptionist at Disneyland (2013-2017)Answered

You need to remember that an alkaline water filter doesn't actuallypurify the
water – it separates it through a chemical process into two types -alkaline and
acidic - so,it's still desirable to purify the water by using other water
purificationproducts.

Q10         Why do phone manufacturingcompanies not make their phone batteries
to stop charging at 80% as they do at100% if 80% is the optimum level for the
batteries to last longer?

A10          Ian Lang LeadingTechnician Feb 8

Well, here’s the thing.

Mobile phones are made, unsurprisingly, by people who know about chargeflows.
They’re called electronic engineers. The power cells are made by people who
know aboutelectro-chemistry and metallurgy. They’re called battery
chemists.Usually the one will know quite a lot of the aspects of the other’s
job.

Between them, they work out power management systems and an indicator forthe
battery status. The PMS has the job of charging the battery until it getsto a
certain level, and thenstopping the charge when the battery is nearly full, and
telling lies to theuser that the battery is actually quite full.

At the other end it lies to you and tells you the battery is empty. There is
always some reserve in that battery when the device says thereisn’t, unless the
battery is degraded to the point where it’s not functioning atall or has been
damaged.

They look at percentage fills and the indicator may tell you it’s 100%but it
isn’t. It may tell you 2%, but it isn’t. ThePMS never allows the battery to be
full or completely empty, because a batterythat has actually been fully drained
won’t charge again properly if at all asit’ll go into a dormant state.

People have heard this 80–20 rule and like a lot of things, goneridiculous with
it. If you are only charging your device to 80% and not lettingit fall below
20% then you are putting that device on too many times and notgetting the
specific energy you should.

I used to let the battery on a Sony Xperia go to 100% and then not chargeit
until it actually switched off. I kept that battery running for seven
years.I’ve still got the phone and the battery still charges but I swapped the
phonefor a Huwaei two years ago with which I do the same and the charge will
last aweek under normal use, or nine hours if I’m doing Amazon Prime on it (and
yes,I did find that out by spending one Friday night/Saturday
Morningbinge-watching Relic Hunter recently; and I don’t care what you say I
spentnine hours in bed with Tia Carrere and Lindy Booth. And Christien Anholt,
butwe don’t talk about that.)

So stop it. Just let the PMS on your phone do its job. It knows a lotmore about
batteries than you do.

Q11         How much gold is therein the world, and why is it so valuable that
it has been sought after fromancient times to the present?

A11          Marcus Kane Thu

As the psychopath said, "let's go in parts": How much gold isthere in the world?

It is not known exactly howmuch metal exists . What wedo have are estimates of
how much extractable metal is left . According to theUnited States Geological
Survey, we have extracted, throughout our history, 197,000 tons of gold, and
some 54,000more tons remain to be extracted .The problem with this number
isthat this is the metal that is considered profitable and
technologicallypossible to mine , and it turns out that the world is full of
unprofitablesources of ore (you, right now, have gold atoms inside of you).
Most gold , like all heavymetals, sank toward the center of the earth , when
the planet was aball of newly formed lava. There is the treasure. But we have
no way of knowinghow much there really is .

And why is it valuable?

There are several reasons why gold is valuable to humans. The first ofthese has
to do with what was previously written: it is a very scarce metal . And what is
scarce isvaluable.

The second reason is because, since the beginning of human history, whenonly a
handful of metals were known, gold quickly stood out for its most visible
detail: itscolor . It happens that, with the only difference of copper, all
visible metalshave the same silver appearance . Some brighter, others duller,
butall similar. So gold, along with copper, are useful for making things
likeornaments and jewelry. Its color makes it different.

But copper, along with other metals, changes over time, and eventuallythey
oxidize. Iron turns red, copper turns green, etc. Metals react with
othermaterials and change their appearance and property. On the otherhand, gold
hardly reactswith anything . Therefore, a gold object looks yellow regardless
of the passageof time . That is the third reason, its durability.

The last reason has to do with the fact that gold is easily workable : you can
bend andcarve it without problems, and if you want you can melt it andreshape
it without any problem. In other words, it is ideal for creating craftswith
them . And that was the first thing humanity did.

So, gold is valuable because itis scarce , it is different , it is durable ,
and it is malleable . That is why it was perfect for luxurydecorations, and
later for coins. That made it so important to us.

Q12         What do you do about agap at the bottom of a door?

A12          Joseph Newcomer ,former Chief Software Architect
(1987-2010)Answered 1h ago

Block it. We put towels infront of the gap in the kitchen door, because there
is no reason to open it in the winter. You can buyweather stripping for most
doors, but we had to replace it about every twoyears on the kitchen door and
finally gave up when it became too painful for meto replace it.

2ND ANSWER-Miguel,former Fire fighter/ EMT Answered1m ago

If it is an outside door, youcan add a door sweep and other weather stripping
to seal it and keep outsideair out. Inside doors into rooms generally have a
gap at the bottom to allow forair circulation if the door is closed. So best to
leave those gaps- otherwisepressure from the HVAC system will cause doors to be
hard to open or will slamthem shut as well.
