Q1              How long does it take a gulp ofwater to go from your lips to
your bloodstream?

A1              Lucia Garcia Worked at Hospitals Tue

Water accounts forabout 50 to 85% of a person's body weight depending on the
age. The younger youare, the higher the proportion of water in your body.

The water passesthrough the mouth into the esophagus, then into the stomach,
and after a shortstay, the water enters the small and large intestines.

Most of the wateris absorbed through the small intestine and into the
bloodstream. Since watercan be directly absorbed and utilized without being
digested, Water Goes from Mouth to Bloodstreamin Just 5 Minutes.

The water contentof blood is as high as 90%, which provides water to our organs
and tissues.

Finally, the bloodcarries excess water and waste to the kidneys. The kidneys
filter excess waterand waste and excrete it as urine.

Under normalcircumstances, the water in the human body is completely renewed
every 15 days.

Q2              Were Homosapiens present all overAfrica by 300,000 years ago?

A2              Claire Jordan Degree in biologyand folklore; programmer, shop
owner, secretary on newspaper Tue

Probably not, no. The earliestsapiens skeleton we have is from 310,000 years
ago, and after that I don’tthink we see many until about 200,000 years ago.
Then we see them in both thefar north and far south of Africa, suggesting
travel over a long trade or migration route, but not so much in the rest of
Africa until more recently.

Q4              Are 100% efficient solar panelspossible?

A4              Steven HaddockLives in Toronto, ON(1959–present)May 21

No.You need wires to pickup the electricity generated by the surface that’s
generatingelectricity, and they have to touch the surface, which means they get
in the way of the light. It’s a balancing act of making the wires thin enough so
they don’t get in theway but thick enough that they can carry the current
without turning intofuses. They also have to be as close together has possible
but there can’t beso many of them as to block the light.

There’s also inevitably going to be some heat loss as thecurrent is transmitted
out of the panel unlessyou keep them in liquid nitrogen or something.

Q5              Why do doctors have such highconsultation fees in India?

A5              Sai Sriram MBBS survivor Updated3h

I don't get a freeride in a cab or an auto because i am a doctor.

Food isn't freeeither. Zomato doesn't give 50% off because i spent sleepless
nights operatingon someone.

My house ownerdoesn't waive off rent because i am a doctor.

I spent 12 years asa student making roughly 5 rs for every hour i worked for
the last 6 of them.

i don’t do edits, but i just  clarify certain points to thereaders. I am not
sure how things work in the Hindi heartland, if there is anextreme scarcity of
doctors making their service such a valuable commodity thatthey can charge a
zillion bitcoins for a 5 minute consult, it is because yourstate didn’t invest
enough in health. Ask the leaders you chose why they didn’tfocus on healthcare.

i can say withcertainty that the ethical and moral compass of the doctors is in
its rightplace in most situations and i d rather not have lawyers and CAs and
start updudes advice me on what i need to do.

yes. We can’t save everyone.I know several doctors, including me, who have
waived off their fees for somany patients. What youpay to the hospital doesn’t
end up in our pockets. So you should question thosewho own the hospitals and
not the doctors who work there.

finally, for allyour claims of emotions running wild, i am yet to see a cop in
a police stationor a judge in a court get assaulted like a doctor in a
hospital. That andseveral comments here show the mentality of the populace. But
do remember when the pandemic waskilling ppl who came forward to risk their
lives for you. There isno nobility when there is lack of civility. A soldier is
expected to fight. Andyet we see heroism there. The same goes for most doctors.
If you hate ourprofession so much, it aint our loss.

My note- Many things told are true. Only a % ofhospital charging goes to the
doctor. However  there are exceptions. My family doctor whostarted career in a
small room has built a three story hospital with dutydoctors and 24 hour
emergency service and all facilities. Still hisconsultation charge is only
Rs100-00(One hundred only)

Q7              Why there is plastic insulationover the electricity wires?

1st  ANSWER- Gopala Krishnan, former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966-2004)Answered just now

Not all electricity(electric current)  carrying wires have plastic coverings.
Thosewires carried through poles from transformers are not insulated. They are
ACSRwires. Wires to transformers from substations, wires to substations via
towersfrom power houses are also not insulated.

Earlier power wiresfrom distribution poles to homes were rubber insulated with
weather proofingover it. Now such cables are rarely used. Thick PVC insulated
wires/ powercables are used nowadays. IN cities mostly power cables are used.

The bare wire carrying electric current will give shock.Hence covering is done
with PVC now. In future insulating material can change withstill better
insulator if INVENTED.

Because of that plastic is a insulator which preventsfrom getting electric
shock when we touch the wire.Plastics does not allow the flow of current
through it because of lack of freemovable electrons. That’s it

3RD ANSWER- Ashwad Pandit, works at CumminsIndia (2018-present)

Answered Jul 28,2018Let’s imagine a bucket filled with boiling water. What
happens if you tryto touch it? Your hand gets burnt. All red with burns. Not
desirable…So, whatdo you do to avoid this? Whatif you put a wooden plank on the
surface of the boiling water? You can touchthe plank now and not scald
yourself. You can even transport thisboiling water, provided you ensure it
doesn’t spill. The plank acts as an insulation for the heat.

When it comes toelectrical wires, you can think of them along similar lines.
The wires carrythe fast rushing electrons through them. This is akin to our
‘boiling water’. If you touch those wires, youcould potentially get
electrocuted. So, to avoid this, we cover the wires witha material that would
prevent the electrons from traveling through your body. There are a variety of
such materials that can be used, but plastic is usuallyused for its ease of
availability.

Q8              Why is salt in the human body?

A8              Ken Saladin, Former professor ofhistology (microscopic
anatomy)Answered Nov 12, 2018

Among many other things, “salt” (NaCl, KCl, others) iswhat makes your brain,
nerves, heart, and muscles work. With no salts, these would all be inactive,
dead.

Salts in the bodyalso control the volume and distribution of fluids in the
body. Disorders in salt balance causeedema, hypertension, stroke, heart
failure, and kidney failure.

Other importantfunctions could be added, but these should suffice to show why
salt is vital tosurvival—so vital that it used to be used as money, and wars
have been foughtover it.

Q9              How does salt affect our health?

Sodium deficiency :

Hyponatremia is amedical term used to describe deficiency of sodium. When the
body's balance ofelectrolytes becomes unstable, the person suffers from
hyponatremia.

This situation arises if there is too much fluid in thebody, as the fluid leads
to dilution of sodium, or ifthe sodium levels are too low in the body.

Sodium plays an important role in body waterdistribution. It helps maintain
blood pressure and acid-basebalance.It is needed to stimulate muscle
contraction, as it is the majorcomponent of nerves.Calcium and other minerals
are kept in soluble form due tosodium. It also stimulates adrenal glands and
helps prevent heat strokes.

Sodium along with chloride and bicarbonate maintains thebalance of electrically
charged particles in the fluids and tissues.

Remedy: oneshould consume less than 1500 mg of sodium (3/4 teaspoon or 3.75
grams of salt)per day.

Generally, everyoneconsumes more sodium than the recommended amount.

So, they alsosuggest that daily consumption of sodium should not be more than
2300 mg. (oneteaspoon or 6 grams of salt).

While the minimum intake of sodium chloride or NaCl is 3-4grams, an average
person consumes 8-10 grams of NaCl or even more.

Therefore, sodiumdeficiency is a rare disorder that affects a person in extreme
cases orconditions only. One should follow a healthy diet, and consume healthy
foodsand drinks to avoid any form of deficiency related illnesses.

Q10           What are the health implications ofconsuming a lot of salt?

A10            Sebastian Dädeby, Embedded SoftwareDeveloper Updated Nov 21, 2017

I actually consumedabout 100–200g of salt in a drink as part of a competition
once. Not smart, butpeer pressure will make you do stupid things. Well, long
story short, theresult was a dramatic expulsion of the salt, drink, and what
was left of mylunch into the nearest container about 5 minutes after I consumed
it. The body is remarkably good atdetecting when you have eaten something that
you shouldn’t and will remedy itASAP.

Q11            Howdoes consuming too little salt affect yourhealth?

Most of us eat toomuch salt anyway in the food. See the ingredients label
formany processed foods. They are high in salt.

So, you don’t eatenough salt for some time, not a problem.

Many natural foods contain enough salt. Other animalsdon’t eat salt but they
are fine.

If your sodiumlevel drops too low, that may result in some complications. Too
little sodiumor too much ofpotassium or calcium can lead to various health
problems.
