BEING  ACOMPILATION THERE MAY  BE ERRORS

Q1            Does everybody lie? Why?

A1            Suzhal - The Vortex on Amazon PrimeVideo One crime. Multiple
suspects. A small town with secrets. Thu

Yes, everybodylies. Most people lie regularly, and their motives for lying can
be varied. Humansare complex beings by nature and the act of lying is deeply
rooted in the way we manage differenttypes of relationships, be it romantic,
friendly, professional etc.To answer your question of why humans, lie, we will
need to look at the 3 typesof lies that exist.

i) White Lies

There are lies thatare not inherently presumed to be bad. Confusing right?
These are lies whichare told because of the relationship you have with the
person. For example, the cashier at the grocery storemay always greet you and
ask how you are. Most days you are fine, but when youare going through an ugly
breakup and are emotionally down, you wouldn’t wantto share this information
with him. Mostly because you know the other personwill be in an awkward
position if you tell them. So, you lie.

ii) Lies of Omission

Ever heard the saying “A half-truth is as good as a lie.”This is the type of
lie where a person leaves out necessary information inorder to make the
situation beneficial for themself. For example- Your localinternet provider may
tell you that he is available 24/7 in case the signalgoes down. He will come to
you in the next 15 minutes whenever you call him. What he doesn’t tell you is
thatyou will face the issue twice a week at least. He hides this information,
soyou take the connection, and he receives his payment.

iii) Lies of Commission

Thereare lies where people outright make things up or twist the details of a
certainincident. This is usually done because they are scared of the
consequences or want thingsto pan out in their own favor. This is one of those
instances where theconvoluted nature of humans comes to light. People may lie
about incidents like an argument, a case offraud, road rage or many other
things.

Why humans lie isa complex yet natural response of the human psyche. If you
would like to dive deeper into the psyche of humans and their lies,Suzhal - The
Vortex on Amazon Prime Video is a suspense thriller that delvesinto the fallacy
of human minds and the various dark truths that lie buriedunder layers of
pretense. From the makers of Vikram Vedha, Suzhal - The Vortexfollows the story
of a missing girl in a fictional town of Tamil Nadu whichuncovers a whirlwind
of secrets. Available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalamand Kannada, it brings
to the fore the human need to lie more to cover anotherlie. Watch the trailer
here to enter the vortex and get a glimpse of thecomplex, gritty and twisted
world of Suzhal- The Vortex.

Q2            Why does the US have huge cities inthe desert? How can these
places be viable to live in and grow so huge? What'sso appealing to them?

A2            C.V. Studied at University ofAntwerpWed

The desert in the US is not like other deserts in theworld. The way you phrase
your question makes me think you think US cities are builtsomewhere in the
middle of South Algeria or the Gobi desert.

This is Las Cruces,New Mexico. Mind you, I personally think the housing
architecture is reallybeautiful, but even if it’s 40 C in late August outside
you will probably neverbreak a sweat because there’s AC everywhere. Houses in
the “deserts” are also much more affordable, many have pools, and many people
prefer a hot environment than having to shovelsnow constantly.

Close to it, youcan find some cool sand dunes. Very “desert-like” right?

Go East for like 30minutes and you’ll end up here

Go a little bitNorth and you’ll end up in winter paradise.

The climate in the US is very varied. I personally findNew Mexico a very
desirable place just for this biodiversity alone. Similardesertic places like
Arizona and Vegas have similar perks plus their proximityto some of the most
beautiful national parks in the world and the Californiancoast also makes them
really desirable. And of course, there’s a lot of growth, strong job market,
economic opportunities and tax breaks in many of theseplaces. All fueled by
price and demand. You’re probably out of luck if you tryto buy a house in
Arizona right now in this market.

I also think many Americans have a love affair withdeserts, myself included.
After I visited Terlingua TX(a desert city which is completely remote,
basically next to the Mexicanborder) I fell so in love I wanted to move there.
But I am not the only one.Houses start at half a million there. But my gosh,
the views and the milky way…AndI’m just scratching the surface.

Q3            Is it a myth that the meals servedin the flight's "First Class"
is better than those served in economyor Business, since the ticket comes at a
premium price?

A3            Prasanna Bhalerao M. Sc. inElectronics & Physics, Fergusson
College, Pune Wed

Economy Class is cattle classand what you get as meals is cattle fodder. Don't
worry. Not a snob here. Itravel economy class. Twotimes, I flew Business Class
and the the difference was remarkablestarting with champagne.

Q4            What are the natural ways to protectyour heart?

A4            Narayana Health Health for all. Allfor health.8 mo

India iscontinuously witnessing an increasing number of heart attacks and other
cardiacdiseases. Here, we will discuss five ways to protect the heart

1. Do not sit for too long:

Most of the peopleare voluntary or involuntary working from home. A sedentary
lifestyle can increaseyour risk of heart diseases. As per a study, individuals
who sit less than 30minutes at a time, can have a lower risk as compared to
those who sit forthirty minutes or more at a stretch.

2. Less consumption of Alcohol:

Some people believethat moderate alcohol consumption is good for the heart,
while others don’tagree with it. Excessive alcohol intake may cause high blood
pressure, stroke,or heart failure.

3. Less consumption of Salt:

A pinch of salt andother spices arouses our senses and taste glands. But excess
of everything isbad. Excessive sodiumconsumption over time can increase blood
pressure.

4. No smoking:

Only some of us areaware that smoking increases the risk of various heart
diseases. Unlikealcohol, there is no safe amount of smoking. Even the light and
occasionalsmoking can badly damage your heart and blood vessels.

5. Stop stressing too much:

Stress depends onperson to person. Situations which are stressful for one may
not be stressfulfor others. Similarly, everyone reacts differently to a
stressful situation. The stress you experience can lead to a variety of heart
problems.

Always try tocontrol your mental and physical reactions to stressful
situations. You can tryyoga, exercise, or rely on your support system (friends
and family) to copewith stress and reduce its effect on your heart.

Q5            Why do cows and horses actuallysleep standing up?

A5            Info Orb Answered by Dale P Lee Jun12

Take a look at thehorse that works as a wagon puller. At first glance it seemed
quite sad, beingforced to stand constantly in the hot sun. It's definitely
better if you canlie down in the stable while eating straw snacks.

… which is not entirely correct, because apparently horses and some other
herbivorous mammals apparently cansleep standing up.They can do this because of
amechanism called the stay apparatus.

Stay apparatus is the act of locking the joints of thefour legs so that they do
not droop when the animal is in a semi-conscious orunconscious state, followed
by relaxation of one leg so that when the horsesleeps, there is actuallyone leg
that "relaxes" aka does not support the horse's body weight.Similar to the way
we shift our body weight from right foot to left whenstanding for long periods
of time.

Over a period oftime, these legs automatically take turns resting, so a
horsealways has three legs working to support its body while the other leg
relaxes. For example, in minutes1–10, the relaxation is the right front foot.
Then at 11–20 minutes, the rightfront leg automatically returns to support the
horse's body and changes to theresting left forefoot. Then at 21–30 minutes, it
was the left back foot thatrested. And so on, until the horse wakes up.

The mechanics areactually a bit complicated, but let's talk a little bit about
it.

In the hind leg,for example, the muscles involved in standing, along with the
ligaments andtendons in the foot, work by making the structure rigid like the
supportingirons, which are also transmitted to the patella (knee bone) and
prevent itfrom bending by a hook-like mechanism.

Apart fromhorses and cattle, some herbivores, such as antelope and even
giraffes, havethis ability to sleep standing up.

Why?

Try to imaginehorses thousands of years ago, before humans were domesticated,
grazingpeacefully, then fell asleep and wanted to sleep. Some sleep lying down,
somesleep standing up. When a predator attacks, which one reacts faster, the
horsestanding or the one lying down?

Of course thatstands. He just " unlocked " his legs and then ran as fast as
thewind, immediately avoiding predators. Meanwhile, a lying horse must first
risefrom its lying position. The pause may be only a few seconds, but remember
afew seconds in suchsituations can be the difference between life and death.

Therefore, horsesand other herbivores evolved with this ability. Even after
human domestication, this ability stillexists.

Although, ofcourse, usually a horse that feels quite safe and relaxed will fall
asleeplying down. Moreover, studies have shown that they sleep better in a
recliningposition. Which is one of the reasons why this fact occurs

Q6            What are the evolutionary benefitsof walking upright on two legs?

A6            Ken Saladin Former professor ofhistology (microscopic anatomy)Jun

In a savannahabitat, an ability to see over the tall grass andnotice prey or
predators better than if the surrounding grass grows as high asyour eyes. One
would be less likely to get ambushed by a big cat.One can carry infants, food,
and weapons; one’s quadrupedal great, great, great…great grampaw couldn’t do
that. One can travellonger distances with more energy efficiency on two legs
than on four, so onecan track or run down prey like antelope, running them to
exhaustionlike the native hunters of the Kalahari do.

Q7            How can I maintain a clean home whenthere are too many things in
the house to begin with?

A7            Bhuvana Rameshwar married for threedecades Wed

When I was livingin Chennai an apartment friend invited me to her flat just
above ours. Theareas of both our flats, were the same but their house looked
bigger andneat.

I asked her why itwas so. She told me it was because of lesser things.
Iimmediately remembered how the packers and movers had once commented
“youpeople have too many things, why so much?”. It was pretty embarrassing
alsothen.

Then my friendasked me not to keep anything under the cot. I remember there
were packingcardboards opened out and stacked under the cots. Soon a squirrel
had comethrough the window and made its home with 6 babies!

So declutter is the “mantra”.

So I came down andwithin a week, starting the next day we threw all old
unwanted books, extrastainless steel and plastic vessels , old bedsheets,
clothes, shoes, slippers ,old furniture, extra stationary especially ballpens,
exam pads, old suitcases, brief cases, even belts, combs, lunch boxes, water
bottles now of no use etc. Many of these were donated to our apartment watchmen,
sweeper, maids and someto an orphanage.. things like cane chairs, stools extra
pillows, sarees etc.

I have a policy since then . If it wasn't used for the past6 months, it should
be given to someone who can use them.

Now our house isclean and neat. There is nothing under the cots and only
necessary things onthe loft.

Every year by June/ December it is cleaning away and giving away time for old
clothes, shoes andaccessories. Whatever is faded in clothes should be given
away. I sometimespull out old clothes if I see my shelf too full too. It shows
I have bought more than I can use.

So declutter, avoidunnecessary buying. Remove too many things from the floor.
Get back your roomsfull surface area. Avoid too many clothes in your cupboards

Q8            Why didn't places like Triplicaneand Mylapore inundate during the
floods in Chennai?

A8            Balaji Viswanathan Lived in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, India6y

The biggestcalamity this time came not from the rainwater falling in the city,
but theopening of Chembarambakkam lake and other lakes like Puzhal (Red Hills)
and Poondi. None ofthese lakes drain into the Cooum river on whose banks lay
the localities likeTriplicane and Nungambakkam. Most of Mylapore is far from
rivers too.

Since thebiggest lake - Chembarambakkam - drained into the Adyar there was a
massiveflashflood. This caught people unaware as the water levelincreased very
rapidly. This is why most of the affected regions - Kotturpuram,Nandanam,
Guindy and Saidapet - are those along the river banks. Most werecaught unaware
as the rain water seemed to quickly leave their locality givinga false sense of
security until something massive was waiting to take them out. While the
rainwater caused waterlogging increased slowly in the other parts, along the
Adyar river banks it was sudden and drastic as is the case in any damopening.
This caused most of the deaths.

Q9            What is Amul milk made of? Why is itunnaturally thick and white?

A9            Prashant Srivastava Content Planner(2019–present)Updated 2y

I have worked with AMUL as a Sales Professional during2003–2004. I am not
getting into technical details herebut explaining a general understanding of
the Amul quality legacy.

Before going onboard in the field for Sales, Amul conducts 1-month
comprehensive inductiontraining at its headquarters Anand, Gujarat, India, that
I think no any otherorganization does.

During Training ourjourney started with Classrooms detailing about products.
Then started our dayby visiting a nearby village, from where ultimately the
product journey starts. We stayed in teams at different villages at Night.

Early in themorning around 4 a.m. we woke up and visited the milk collection
centresituated nearby. A van from Amul plant came there and guys were sitting
at thecentre to collect milk from villagers with a machine (which checks the
densityof milk).

Villagers are being paid on the basis of density of theirmilk produced and not
just the quantity, amazing isn’t it?( You know, this way villagers don’t
adulterate the milk for getting a betterprice - Quality of Milk well assured).

After milkcollection, we sat in Milk Collection Vans and went straight to the
plant, sawthe milk being unloaded to the plant tanks and processing started
from there.

No scope of adulteration at any step, as we saw each stepof production from
scratch to finish. (This is done atAmul to ensure the confidence of their brand
among sales professionals, whichthey ultimately translate in the market and
beat the brands like Nestle,Cadbury, Brittania, etc.)

In India, 99%public (sorry, I am not sure just a vague guess) don’t know that
they areeating Frozen Dessert instead of Ice-Cream. Only Amul makes Ice Creams
(Yes it’s true).

Ice cream is aproduct which is made from MILK FAT and manufacturers can write
on the pack ICECREAM word only when it is made up of milk fat - Amul Does it.

Other products are called FROZEN DESSERTS ( Because theyare made up of
Vegetable Fat)

Check the packagelabel before eating ice cream next time when you buy it.

So the question - What is Amul milk made of? Why is it unnaturally thick and
white? -Because it’s REAL MILK.Hope I answered the question.

Edits, Suggestions,Upvotes, Follows - Most Welcome

Edit 1: I agreewith some members that apart from Amul few more regional brands
make milk fat based Ice-Creams.

Edit 2: I may haveforgotten some details related to milk collection against
density, some moreparameters are also followed to check the purity, my
experience dates back to2003.

Edit3: Taste may vary region wise as milkquality is different in different
states’ cattle.

Edit 4: I agreetaste may differ due to injections being given to cattle.

Edit5: Few moreco-operatives are replicating this system in different states,
but Amul is apioneer and example setter and available Pan India.

Edit 6:Availability could be an issue at several places as someregional
players’ distributors don’t take interest in Amul distribution due tolow
margins, that’s the reason for unavailability in several regions.

Edit7:Adulteration since procurement to product packaging is not possible at
Amul, later after reachingthe market local competitors may devise ways to
adulterate to affect the salesand brand value due to competition but I have no
evidence and not sure.
