Pranam INVISIBILITY
1 Making something appear invisible means that your eyes (or some detector) can’t detect it. When you see things, light from the object you are viewing enters your eyes and interacts with the rods and cones in your eyes. This interaction results in an electrical impulse being sent to your brain and you perceive something. The color the object appears depends on the frequency of the light entering your eyes, the “hardware” in your eyes (cones). The rods only detect black and white, while the cones detect color. A black object appears black because it is absorbing the light, which is detectable to our eyes – that is, the absence or reduction of light is detectable. 2 On the contrary, for something to be invisible, all we need to do is make the light from an object not enter our eyes (a detector), and not get absorbed by the object. If all the light gets transmitted through the object, without scattering, then we don’t see it. If the light gets behind to our perception, around the object rather than reflecting off of it or the light reflects off the object in such a way that it does not get into a detector, then we cannot see it. If the reflected light from the object enters our eyes but cannot be distinguished from the surrounding objects, then it is camouflaged <http://gargles.net/invisibility-cloaks/> and we cannot see it. In all these cases the object is invisible or cloaked. This idea doesn’t just apply to visible light, it applies to any electromagnetic wave and to acoustic waves <http://www.aps.org/about/physics-images/cloakdevice.cfm> too. 3 Thus invisibility spectrum is a scientific treatise. Perception is Maya. It is a belief we see a pot. One who says it as “A” the perception is “A”. For a no knowledge person, it is a surprise. For a Gnani it is Brahmam. The elephant story seen by the blinds can be remembered. In all cases, it is mud only. Now mud is seen in a vast space but they are not visible as Pots. It all depends on how we perceive. Manas is the lower mind which collects sense impressions. Its perceptions shift from moment to moment. This sensory-motor mind obtains its inputs from the senses of hearing, touch, sight, taste and smell. Each of these senses may be taken to be governed by a separate agent. Ahamkara is the sense of I-ness that associates perceptions to a subjective centre and thus creates “personal” experiences. Once sensory impressions have been related to I-ness by ahamkara, their evaluation and resulting decisions are arrived at by buddhi, the intellect. Manas, ahamkara and buddhi are collectively called the “internal instruments” (*antahkarana*) of the mind. 7 I do not know whether Ursula entered the light but a few episodes I saw in USA the Moody novel; but transcending into light is the theme of Jews, Greeks and shinto Japan. We in India says Punarapi Jananam Punarapi maranam and Thamaso ma Jyothirga maya ( Take me from darkness to light). Perceiver of the right kind Gnani can perceive a huge spectrum, far away from where he resides , the happenings and also shades disappearing. Perception is a dangerous word; we all have such varied in micro to macro perception in life; many of us think , other aare below par; we are the ego; we are the superior; others exist only to serve us; and the micro perception cannot expand the light to be received immediately. On the other side of the shore there are perceivers who rescue the SCORPIONS FROM WATER , THOUGH THEY STING; others caves in out of fear swings both sides; perception is a dangerous atmosphere. Economics is also Brahmam; there was an economics in 1940s when gold was Rs 8 per sov but the earning were similar. Today people say there was honey and milk flowing then. But in 1940 the grand fathers , then young would have said what a tough life. But then nature was greener than today. Economics is the same even today. We have changed. Perceptions are dangerous.
