Q1           Why can't India manufacture cheaperproducts as compared to the
Chinese?

A1           Balaji Viswanathan, CEO of InventoRobotics.4y

A few months ago Iwas in the Liaoning province in northeastern China. We met
the CEO of a smart city there who wasoffering us rent-free premises for 3
years, a low interest loan [2%] and cheapelectricity if we choose to build our
robots there.

Chinese governmentsreally believe that industrialization is crucial to mass
employment and need towoo not just large companies but SMEs too.

Incontrast, Indian general public attitude towards industrialization is
oftenpoisonous. The bureaucrats are too slow to move, thepoliticians often
careless and the common publicthink “industrialists” make a lot of profits, who
just needs to be taxed high.

It is far harder to start a factory in India and the interestrates are
substantially high. Land prices near major cities are through theroof and the
infrastructure abysmal. Thus, industrialists are not able to fully tap into
India’s lower wages.

Indians often moanabout the low rate of innovation in India. We moan that very
few things are made in India. To reallymake in India, the society has to put
industrialization at the highest priority. It cannot be seen as lower priority
compared to agriculture and other sectors.

My note- It is the answer of a person who is anindustrialist. However many
industries are promoted and well established, andmany are flourishing including
Kerala.

Q4           What is the right of a passenger ifhe reaches the station and find
that the train has departed before time?

A4           Prashant Tiwari, Indian RailwaysEnthusiast Mon

The train manager of each train makes sure that the traindoes not leave the
station before time.

However, if apassenger reaches the station and finds that the train has
departed before thescheduled time, here is what they can do depending on the
circumstances:

i) If the train has departed early without priorannouncement: If the train has
left before thescheduled departure time without any prior announcement, the
passenger has theright to claim compensation for the inconvenience caused. The
passenger canfile a complaint with the railway authorities and seek a refund of
the ticketprice.

ii) If the train has departed early with priorannouncement: If the train has
left before the scheduled time but with priorannouncement, the passenger can
still claim compensation for the inconveniencecaused. However, the compensation
amount may bereduced, and the passenger may have to bear the remaining
expensesincurred due to the early departure.

In any case, thepassenger should always check the departure time of the train
well in advancebefore leaving for the station and plan accordingly to avoid
inconvenience.

My note- As I observe the time is maintained only at thosestations  from where
reservation can bemade. Satabdi and vandebharath from Chennai to Mysore have
two stops- Katpadiand Bangalore. In these stations only time is maintained.

Q5           What is quantum tunneling used for?

A5           Mark John Fernee,20+ years as aphysicist1y

Modern electronics uses quantum tunnelling in things suchas tunnelling diodes.
However, I'll give you a much moreprosaic application. How about reflective
sunglasses. Reflective sunglasses usea thin metal film to partially reflect the
light. However, metal stronglyabsorbs light. Even a verythin film is still a
metal. There are no small holes to let thelight through. Instead, what happens
is that the photons have a probability oftunnelling through the metal and
exiting the other side. This probabilitydepends on the thickness of the film,
so you can tune the level oftransmissivity. This isobviously a pretty handy
property that is used in more than just sunglasses.

Q6           What is the biggest mind blow ever?

A6           Tiny Nair, Cardiologist at PRSHospital, Trivandrum2y

The Sheriff ofNottingham tried to arrest him, but the people supported him. He
robbed therich and gave the wealth to the poor. The 13th century English legend
names him as ‘Robin Hood’and of course, it is a mere folklore.

But there is aRobin Hood inside our body.

Imagine that youpasting a label and have inadvertently spilled a drop of
‘Fevicol’ on yourtable. By the time you realise it 10 minutes later, you are
likely to find athick, difficult to remove white ‘blob’ despite your best
effort to cover upyour misdeed. The follow-up lecture as to how you should
modify yourlongstanding careless attitude would invariably follow, from your
mom or wifedepending on your age and stature.

If you had pricked your finger (don’t do it at homefor experiment) and a drop
of blood had fallen on the table, instead of theglue, the crime red ‘blob’
would have solidified mush faster; faster than the‘Fevicol’. The follow-up
lecture, nevertheless, would be the same; probably garnished with alittle
shriek.

This is justto impress upon the fact that blood, as a liquid, is far more
clot-able thanFevicol.

Now imaginethat this highly viscous chemical is running all over our body
24/7/365 till corona catchesus, or we die naturally.

On its endless round trip journey from tissues to theheart, lungs and back, it
has to travel through 3 to 4 micron diametercapillaries back and forth;
normally, without clotting. And rarely if it does clot, sirens wail, needles
plunge, monitors beep and hellbrakes loose.

The main function of blood is to deliver oxygen to thetissues.

Like Robin Hood, it collects enough oxygen form theoxygen-rich lungs, packs as
much as he can in the boot of the RBC (red bloodCells) and starts his journey,
from the arterial boulevard to the bye-lanes ofcapillaries, reaching the
tissues starving for oxygen.

As you tie the laceof your snickers and get out to jog, the system of oxygen
transfer starts toaccelerate. As you runfaster, your exercising leg muscles
want more food (oxygen). That little musclecramp that you feel is their call ‘I
am hungry’. The Heart rate increase, blood cellsmove faster, the 7.2 micron
RBCs bend, squeeze, crawl through those arteriolarand do their job. Red-riding
Robin Hood delivers all the rich oxygenit had stolen from the lungs to make
sure that you come home after yourexercise, drink a cup of coffee and feel
proud of your body.

No one thanks the Robin Hood ‘blood’ for his work.

He feelshurt, but still doesn’t clot.

My note- Howbest with analogy of Robin hood  theblood clotting is explained!!.
Such a way of writing is a Divineblessing.

Q7           Where could a person feel the maximumgravity on earth?

A7           Robert Frost, Instructor and FlightController at NASA8y

See that red pin. Aboat, there, on the surface of the Arctic Ocean, would be at
the location that is regardedas having the highest gravitational acceleration
on Earth.

The coordinates are Latitude 86.71 Longitude 61.29.

At that location, the gravitational acceleration is 9.8337m/s^2.

The point where the gravitational acceleration is lowest ison Mount Huascaran
in Peru. The gravitational acceleration, there, is 9.7639.

That range only offersa difference of about 7/10 of a percent, so you wouldn't
notice the difference.

If you'd like tolearn how those results were obtained, they are explained in
this paper:….

Q8           If Vande Bharat trains can run fromChennai Central to Bangalore or
Chennai Central to Cochin, why Vande Bharatcould not run from British laid
Chennai Egmore to Tirunelveli?

A8           Ramalingam Satish, Tricky move Mar 30

Vande Bharat trainis a luxury train which is competing to the air travel cost.
The cost includes the food. Whichis quite expensive?

If the occupancy ispoor, it will be a loss to the railways.

The railways may besmarter by using old coaches if they do so they will have to
withdraw theservice as of Satapathy which ran from Coimbatore to Chennai and
toCoimbatore. In future they may try it

My note- It is areal fact in southern side trains catering in trains is
practically nil. Privatevendors preparing things and bring in train. So atleast
for food people will get in Vandebharat express fromChennai Egmore to
Tirunelveli.

Only thing likeHydrabad- Tirupati Vandebharat, stops should be more for the
vandebharat.

Q9           What is the greatest lie ever told?

A9           Sasuke It's me! Sat

You need to drinkat least 8 glasses of water everyday.

If you'restruggling to get to your eighth glass of water every day, don't feel
bad—the quota isn't really a hard and fast rule for healthy living.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the amount of water youneed daily depends on
several different factors, like your overall health, youractivity levels, and
where you live.

No single numberapplies to humans across the board—some people may be perfectly
hydrated with fewer thaneight glasses and others might need more.

If you'redehydrated your body will tell you, if you're overhydrated your body
will tellyou, have a balanced amount of water in your body.

Q10         What is the most useless fact you know?

A10         Mark Rhysand, Studies philosophy, humanities, anthropology and

A group ofjellyfish is called a smack.

The shortest war between two sovereign nations was foughtbetween Britain and
Zanzibar, which lasted only 38 minutes.

The longest word in the English language (that isrecognized by the Oxford

The fear of long words is calledhippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.

The first recordedrecipe for guacamole dates back to the 16th century.

The only continent without any reptiles or snakes isAntarctica.

Q11         Why was the electrical voltage 110Vinstead of something lower?

A11         Loring Chien,  electrical engineer and audiophile for 45years
Updated Mon

It is actually currently 120 V and has been for 50–60years (in the US).

Originally Edisonaimed for a nice round 100 VDC for his electrical lighting
systems in New YorkCity. However, he fought a problem that would be widespread
- voltage loss as the currentincreased.

So he launched 110to light the bulbs that were around 100 V rated to make up
for the voltage lossat 100 V transmission from the generator and probably
eventually 120 as thecurrents increased and the plants had to send higher
currents further distancesas lighting and electrical appliances became more
widespread.

The solution became Tesla/Westinghouse’s AC distributionusing higher voltages
to send more power at greaterdistances from the plants (so you don’t have to
build coal burning power plantsdowntown every few blocks). Using transformers
it was simple to stepvoltage up and down; this is what we use today, not DC.

They made the finalvoltage similar to the 120 V DC so that they could use the
same bulbs (bulbsdon’t care if its AC or DC as long as the RMS/average value is
the same at 120V.

But the answer isto be compatible with the first bulbs. Once it got ingrained
into all theequipment, it would really have to be bad to make everyone change
everything. And its not bad at all.
