My experience is mercury manometer is 
Best  but the problem is mercury has to cleaned after some use. Digital Bp 
instrument can be used As lt Bp approxMate. Latest instruments give average of 
three readings and pulse rates and automatic recordings. The present trend with 
digital instruments are one in early morning and another after two hours of 
medication and Check the variation. This avoids the white coat syndromes.
