1. As someone already wrote, today is the birth day of Maha Kavi (Great Poet) Bharathiyar, the great freedom fighter who instilled patriotism and courage to fight for our mother land (we sadly need these qualities now, more than ever). May his dream of a Nava Bharat come true in our life time. Our gratitude and pranams to him and ALL freedom fighters and not just one person / family. Let their valiant efforts and sacrifices remind us of our duty to our motherland. 2. Today is the day M S Amma, the queen of music, left us. We remember you fondly Amma and not a day passes without listening to, among other songs, Supra Bhatham and Vishnu Sahasranamam. As Kanchi Mahan said, her name and fame will remain as long as there are oceans and mountains.
