I remember the incident when Dr. Radhakrishnan, our Philosopher President met President Kennedy and it started drizzling; Kennedy is reported to have remarked that "even Nature is against us" ( he was not particularly enamored of Nehru but that is another story) and Dr Radhakrishnan remarked " Mr. President, we can't change Nature but we can certainly change our attitude to Nature" - words that impressed Kennedy highly. Remember we consider it auspicious when it drizzles whenever we start an auspicious function. We say Varuna Bagawan has blessed us. Same event but different ways of looking at it - depending on how we react/ respond. The book " The Kenndy Reader" I think, says Kennedy had high regards for Dr. Radhakrishnan And Rajaji (he met him at the White House to discuss nuclear disarmament). The book was written by Kennedy's Press Secretary Arthur Schlesinger ( I hope I got the spelling right). We must also remember that "Not every event needs our reaction" and " Wisdom is the knowledge to know what needs our reaction and what needs to be ignored".
