Dear folks

An interesting exchange of cross e-mails.

At first, prominent bluffologist K Rajaram ex-IRS 19124 declaims:-

"*KR Rig vedam does not speak about Ramayanam; Ramavatharam was only
after the Rig vedam. Sama vedam which came out of Rig vedam had a line of
content; this was taken to write the Jaiminya samhita where there were a
few lines.*"

So, the tracing is from the "few lines" in the Jaimineeya samhitha back to
the saama vedam, and further back to the r'g-vedam "(saama) came out of
the r'g-vedam", meaning r'g was once pregnant with saama, to which it gave
birth later. In other words the Jaimineeya samhitha is somehow the
granddaughter of r'g-vedam.

Then comes Sri Venkatgiri Vedagiri who clarifies:-

"*“Honourable Sir, I request you to refer to Rig Veda!”**

**He specified the chapter and shloka (verse) and said, “There it is
mentioned in Rig Veda, Gaiminiya Samhita! These shlokas specify the
directions and distances from a specific point on the banks of River
Sarayu, to reach the birth place of Shri Rama. If one follows those
directions, one reaches a specific spot in Ayodhya!”*

*"**The bench ordered for immediate verification, and it was done to
realise that Shri Giridhar was very precise** and right!*"

At this stage, it is still r'g-vedam.

Then Sri Ramaswamy slips in enthusiastically:-

"*This particular quote from Samavedam is new and enlightening. We are
Sama Vedis and hence make it more interesting.*"

The poor Jaimaneeya samhitha is abandoned and is left in
the darkness, while saama and r'g tussle for glory.

Will some super-genius now intervene and try to cite atharvana-vedam or
yajur-vedam as reliable authority for pin-pointing the true location of
Lord Sree Raama's birthplace?

S Narayanaswamy Iyer
