MAKKALUM MAMPOOVUM ONNUPOLAE

CHILDREN AND MAGOFLOWERS ARE EQUAL

Dear friends,

Yesterday Iwas watching the Malayalam serial Kanyadanam in Soorya TV. In one
occasion a lady playing the partof devoted mother was  telling to anotherthe
above saying- MAKKALUMMAMPPOVUM ONNUPOLAE.

The mango flowersmay either get dried up, a few may develop as mangoes, or  the
full bunch may develop as mangoes incourse of time. Even after becoming mango
some may fall down at early stage. Many times, the full bunch may ripe as
healthy mangoes. No one can predict.

The saying carriedvery good meaning and found touching. Some children may meet
death at earlystage, some may be very affectionate, and sometimes all may be
veryaffectionate in addition to achieving good qualifications and job.  Some
may develop deceases like mentalretardation etc. Some may develop bad qualities
and burden to parents.  Nothing can be told. Children’s behavior maychange
after marriage or after grand children are born.

Present daymost serials in Malayalam have similar sayings, instances of quoting
puranicstories, writers, historical incidents etc. To say educative than soap.

The above saying told was very touching to me.Similar may be the case with
serials in other languages also.  A new trend very much to be appreciated.
