1 MR Giri perhaps did not read what mine wrote in the same column a few
days back as extracted from deiv athin Kural adding how no one is able to
cite that verse. Mr Giri had taken this perhaps from Fb. The Deivathin
kural version is slightly different .
2 Has any one possessed that verse? This is an old version fabricated
with the original without mentioning the words used there between Sanskrit
and Hebrew. However I am researching these subjects as I do in many
branches, and publish the versions of those , often including my
commentaries in between. However the learned like Mr Gopalkrishnan etc, who
only learnt, to their levels, I don't know what is that level and
enlightened may add) called those history as thrash. (Maybe the
originals are thrash means Gopalkrishnan level is far below those at the
basics) Thrash is written only by a few aged (kids do write in majority
only a thrash as that is their age) and genuinely aged write their life
worth. However good writers like Mr Giri, could have gone deeper into such
subjects and had he gone deeper into, may write those Rig vedic verses.
Thank you
3 In the meantime here I would like to mention a few connections between
Hebrew and Sanskrit. Mainly 2 people in India had done quite a research and
I had gone through them as well as many more by whose write up, my
Deivathin kural Rig veda Research is going bulkier. One is M M Shukla
Mafdan Mohan Shukla who has written few books on this. Another learned
TALAGERI had written a few books. For those interested may read those
books, In the meantime,
4 Nevertheless, because it is so well put (and stands so sharply in
contrast to what he writes after TALAGERI 2000), here is what WITZEL had to
say about the Rigveda (yes, basically about the present Rigveda of 1028
hymns!) before TALAGERI 2000 [and indeed, knowing Witzel, he may still be
saying all this when speaking or writing in contexts other than the
AIT-vs.-OIT debate! Note that one of the quotations is from an article or
paper published in 2006, but which was already included in an earlier
pre-print version entitled ―Early Loan Words in Western Central Asia:
Substrates, Migrations and Trade‖ already out in 2002 and probably written
much earlier. Along with the ability to write contradictory things, often
even on one and the same page, without any apparent loss of credibility in
the eyes of his admirers, Witzel also has the tendency to just go on lazily
and print what he has already prepared before even when circumstances, in
the meanwhile, suggest that some change is necessary]:

―Right from the beginning, in Ṛgvedic times, elaborate steps were taken to
insure the exact reproduction of the words of the ancient poets. As a
result, the Ṛgveda still has the exact same wording in such distant regions
as Kashmir, Kerala and Orissa, and even the long-extinct musical accents
have been preserved. Vedic transmission is thus superior to that of the
Hebrew or Greek Bible, or the Greek, Latin and Chinese classics. We can
actually regard present-day Ṛgveda recitation as a tape recording of what
was composed and recited some 3000 years ago. In addition, unlike the
constantly reformulated Epics and Purāṇas, the Vedic texts contain 252

contemporary materials. They can serve as snapshots of the political and
cultural situation of the particular period and area in which they were
composed. […] as they are contemporary, and faithfully preserved, these
texts are equivalent to inscriptions. […] they are immediate and unchanged
evidence, a sort of oral history ― and sometimes autobiography ― of the
period, frequently fixed and ‗taped‘ immediately after the event by poetic
formulation. These aspects of the Vedas have never been sufficiently
stressed […]‖ (WITZEL 1995a:91).

5 The Hebrews belong to a branch of Vedic Aryans

In 1979 the Oriental Institute at Baroda published a paper entitled "The
Hebrews belong to a branch of Vedic Aryans." This was a follow-up to a
previous article on the same topic published by the same author, Prof.
Madan Mohan Shukla, in the Vishveshvaranand Indological Journal in 1976.
The basic thesis of these papers is that the Hebrews represent an offshoot
of Vedic Brahmins. This blog is also based on another study called
“Transcending the Textuality of Scripture” undertaken by Barbara A.
Holdrege State University of New York Press (December 1995) Barbara’s study
is found under the sub-heading “Torah and Veda” in this blog.

6 VOCABULARY - Svah in Sanskrit meaning Heaven in Hebrew

The most important point is the considerable vocabulary shared by Hebrew
and Sanskrit. There is a large list of words which are common to Hebrew and
Sanskrit. The following examples are cited. "The word, 'Svah' means
'heaven' or 'paradise' in Sanskrit. This word, written as 'svam' may assume
the form, 'Sam-yim' which means, 'sky' and/or 'heaven' in Hebrew, while it
may become 'Asvah' under the influence of the principle of vowelization.
Sometimes, the sound 'a' may change to 'ya' and thus, the derivation,
'Asvah' or 'Asuah' may change to 'Yasuah' which is nearer to a Hebrew word,
'Yasuah' (salvation).

VOCABULARY – Appa in Marathi meaning Abba in Hebrew

'Appa' is a Marathi word. The derivation 'Appa' may further change to
'Abba', which is a Hebrew word. In the English Bible, the word “Abba,
Father” is mentioned to address God as the Father. {KR ABBU is father in
islam} Now let us consider the root - word 'Svas'. {KR: SWAHA:} It may
change first to 'Vas' and thence to Bas or 'Bes' which is a Hebrew word
though with different meaning, ie. 'daughter'." The word “Surios” in
Sanskrit gave rise to Kurios, or Kur. 'Abru' and 'Uparohita' exist in
Persian and Avadhi Hindi, distinct from Sanskrit. bhru and purohita

*VOCABULARY – Joasava in Sanskrit becomes Joasaph in Hebrew*

The word “Joasava” in Sanskrit may be transformed into “Joasaph” in Hebrew
from which the derivation of the word “Joseph” is a simple matter. Thus we
can see that the Biblical name Joseph can be derived from an ancient Indian
name, “jayasva." The word "A-dityam” in Sanskrit seems to have been the
Hebrew word “Adam” the sun became the first man in bible. The Vedic
pronunciation of this word is “ A-ditiam." In addition, the meaning of the
root-word as in Sanskrit is 'to eat', and 'to enjoy' or 'to be merry'.(KR
aditi ) Hence if we pronounce the term “upasana” then it would mean,
'Eating before God', and 'Being merry before God.'" Another striking
similarity exists with regard to script. Now, the Hebrew script, like those
of Arabic and Kaithi, does not use the word signs to indicate the
pronunciation of its consonants.

7 PRIESTHOOD

One of the strongest points for a common Brahmin-Jewish origin is the fact
that in both communities have been endogamous priests from the earliest
times of their recorded history: "Chosen People of God: It may also be
observed in this respect that the Hebrews, as well as their Indian
counterparts, Brahmins, consider themselves as the "Chosen People of God".
The Hebrews started their corporate career in history as a "Kingdom of
Priests" (Exodus19:6). Likewise, the Brahmins have also been a "Community
of Priests" since the dawn of their history. The colonialists were the
first to notice the similarity between Brahmins and Jews, namely that
Brahma not only corresponds with Abraham, but that his consort “Sarasvati”
corresponds to Sarah.

BIBLICAL FIGURES AND VEDIC FIGURES

With reference to his own work 'The Holy Bible - A Source book of Ancient
Indian History', a paper submitted to All Indian Oriental Conference (1976)
held at Dharwar, the learned author notes that

"We have already tried to equate Brahma, Sarasvati, Manu and Bali with the
Biblical Abraham, Sarah, Noah and Peleg." Not only that, but Shukla holds
that the Jewish “Laban” and “Brahmanic Lavana” coincide: "It is noteworthy
to note in the above context that the sister of Lavana on the Indian side
becomes the daughter of Laban in the Biblical account. It may also be
mentioned in this respect that while Sarasvati is said to be the daughter
of Brahma in accordance with the Indian tradition, her Biblical counterpart,
Sarah, has been described as the sister of Abraham. 'Svas', the root-word
of the Sanskrit 'svasar' (sister) which becomes 'Bes' to mean 'daughter' in
the Hebrew language."

8 Matri in Sanskrit becomes Mary in Hebrew

Equally striking is Shukla's derivation of 'Mary' from 'Matri': "the
words 'Mary'
and 'Mariam' could be derived from a Sanskrit word, matr, meaning
'mother'." "Similarly, the word, 'Mari' or 'Mary' may also be derived from
Sanskrit 'Matri'." [and Shukla notes that Mary is worshipped as a mother
goddess.]... "The word Adam is derived from a Hebrew word, 'Adamah' which
means 'the earth'. Similarly, the Sanskrit. 'Adityam' is derived from
'Aditi' which also means the Earth. Hence the primary meaning of both the
words, 'Adam' and Adityam would be 'earthly one' {KR Aditi and Kashyapa
begot so many childreen has a direct meaning as well as deep meanings like
aditi tghe earth and the Kashyapa the space , yielded many worlds and
species. }

The word 'Adityam' will change to 'Adam' under the influence of this rule
in the following way: - Adityam -> Adatam -> Adadam (t -> d) -> Adam
(Haplology) t would be interesting to note here that the Sanskrit
'Adityam', represented by the same rule would change to 'Aton': Adityan ->
Aditan -> Atadan (d -> t) -> Atan ->: Aten /Aton This is interesting, for
it provides an Indo-European derivation for the Egyptian God Aton.
Moreover, "the Vayu Purana mentions Manu as Bharata"

*9 Elohim in Hebrew with Brahma in Sanskrit*

"It can be shown that the Hebrew word, 'Elohim' can be derived from the
Sanskrit 'Brahman': Brahman -> Ibrahim (rule of vowelization) -> Ibrahim
(rule of stress) -> Ilohim (r -> l) -> Elohim Hence the expression 'Adonai
Elohim; becomes equivalent to the Skt. 'Aditya-Brahman'."{KR Christ
cried when crucified “ELOI ELOI LAMA SABAKTANI”; eloi is God or Brahman}

10 I have a hunch it must be the Rig veda verse of shanno mitra sham
varuna: connecting Indra ; as I am reading TORAH also from the USA lib.
Those scriptures have the same sound. However the oldest language of
the earth is undoubtedly Sanskrit Matha of many languages. Ofcourse one in
doubt could be ahead of Egypt, one which is not in vogue which I had
written in that TAMIL continuam. Those who feel so hard may refrain from
learning our assets as they become thrash for such avivekis.

Kps:
Experiences with Maha Periyava: The Oldest Language in the World

When I went to the Kanchi Mutt to have the darshan of Sri Maha Periyava,
there were four foreigners there, an Israeli, an Italian, a German and a
British. They had come to do their PhD in Philology on the topic of 'the
most ancient languages in the Occidental and the Oriental world'. They were
studying Latin, Hebrew and Greek languages in the Occidental part and
Sanskrit and Tamil in the Oriental part.

Maha Periyava was in his private quarters, performing His Nithya Karma
Anushtanas and elaborate poojas; they had waited and desired to take a
photo of Him but His kaingaryams refused permission. They were heartbroken
that they could not take a picture. All the four of them were standing near
a tree since morning waiting for Periyava to finish his poojas and give
darshan. They asked His sevakas when He would be done with the poojas but
got an unconvincing reply.

I told the foreigners that we Indians are used to the way of life at the
Mutt, but how had they all been standing for the past 6 hours? One of them
looked at his watch and exclaimed, “Oh my God, has it been 6 hours? He is a
Man of Certainty and is Beyond Time!”

Maha Periyava came in after 10 minutes and we all went and prostrated
before Him. Looking at the man (who had the camera hanging around his neck)
who had wanted to take the photos, He gestured with His hands that he could
take the pictures now. He posed for three photos and stopped him before
taking the fourth.

''Why have you all come here and what is the purpose of your visit? ",
asked Periyava.

''We have visited many places regarding our research on the most ancient
language''.

Periyava asked, "So, did you arrive at a conclusion as to which is the most
ancient language?"

The Israeli replied, "Hebrew is the most ancient in the Occident; but in
the Oriental, people say that both Sanskrit and Tamil are the oldest, but
we are confused and that is why we are here for Your opinion".

Periyava said, "There is another language which is more ancient than all
these, it is the Vedic Language. It is the source of even Sanskrit and
Hebrew."

"There is a verse about rebirth in Hebrew, can you recite it completely?"
asked Periyava to the Israeli by giving the man the first two words.

The Israeli recited it for 3 to 4 minutes. Periyava looked around and asked
some boys, “You have all learnt Rig Veda, can you recite this particular
verse? He suggested some mantras to the boys."

Those boys recited the Veda Mantras for 5 minutes.

Periyava then addressed the Israeli ''Did you understand what these boys
recited now?"

The four men remained quiet.

Maha Periyava smiled and turned to the boys and said "You all will
definitely not understand what this man had recited in Hebrew!"

He then turned to the Israeli and said, "What you have chanted before is
the same as what these boys have chanted!"

The 4 foreigners were stunned and did not know how to respond. Maha
Periyava told them that he could prove it and asked for a paper and a pen.

"In Vedas it is mentioned that the world has been classified into 32
portions/regions. And in each of the 32 geographic regions, Vedas say how
the Veda Aksharas have changed/got pronounced in those places!"

He asked each of them which region they came from and then explained to
them how a particular Veda Aksharam got changed in their individual places!
He asked the boys to recite a verse from Rig Veda again and told the men
how each Aksharam in Rig Veda in that verse would sound in their Regions!

The Sarveshwaran then said, "I will now recite this verse with some
difficulty as it has been a long time since I had Abhyasam and the Mahan
started to chant the mantra slowly, slightly differing from the basic
shloka aksharam so that it matched how it would sound in Hebrew. After he
recited the aksharams he asked the Israeli if he understood the recital of
the mantra and aksharam and observed any familiarity.

To the boys who recited the Vedas, He said, "I will now recite it in a
slightly different form based on how each Aksharam will sound in Hebrew.
Please do not think it is wrong; there is this injunction in the Vedas that
it can be recited this way also."

To everybody's astonishment and surprise, the Israeli started to recite in
Hebrew what Maha Periyava exactly chanted- the aksharas in a modified form,
as it resembled the Hebrew language. The Israeli therefore chanted it
together with Him!!!

We were all stunned!!!

After this demonstration Maha Periyava addressed everyone assembled there,
"I told you earlier, the same verse in Rig Veda is present ditto in Hebrew,
but the Aksharas have changed slightly. (As we say Yamuna but in the North
it is Jamuna, Va in the south is Ba in West Bengal, Paa in Tamil is Haa in
Kannada etc). Therefore, the most ancient language in the world is the
Vedic language!"

Maha Periyava then asked for paper and pen to be supplied to the four men
in order to prepare a table and fill it with how the Rig Veda Aksharams
sounded in their language. This was completed in 15 minutes.

The Israeli was shocked and exclaimed, "This is something unimaginable!"

Periyava asked him, "What do you think now, do you now agree that
everything has sprung from Vedas?"

The look on the Israeli’s face was not convincing.

Periyava quipped, "What, Are you thinking why could Vedas not have
originated from Hebrew?"

The man said, "Yes, it could have been the reverse also, the Vedas could
have come from Hebrew".

Periyava replied smilingly, "You only have the lock, whereas we have both
the key and the lock! It is even mentioned in the Vedas as to which
Maharishi from here in India went to your region and spread/taught Vedas in
Israel!"

The man was fully convinced in the end that the Vedic language is indeed
the oldest and the most time honoured.
