Just discovered an app which fits our needs
Pockets by ICICI Bank introduces a first ever ‘Wallet linked UPI’ which
lets you debit your Pockets digital wallet while using UPI. Simply
download/log in to your updated Pockets app and get a VPA auto created by
the app without having to link to any bank account. Use this newly created
VPA to debit your Pockets Digital Wallet in all UPI transactions - *Pay at
merchant sites, Scan & Pay, Generate collect & send requests, Transfer
money from wallet to savings account or to any other wallet etc.*

Additionally, for some cash payment transactions while we get confirmation
for such transactions, the message contains information on balance
availablity in our account.

In G Pay App. there is a facility to check the balance. To obviate any
problem, I have two bank accounts. The one linked with the payments
maintains a maximum balance of Rs 20000/-. When this decreases to a low
level I will transfer from my main account again Rs 20000/-
In extreme cases of fraud, my loss is restricted to Rs 20,000/-
Responding to suggestion of Jayanthi Menon, though I installed True caller
, I received two spam calls.True caller may not be able to identify all
incoming calls .
I am now shaken up to that extent I refuse to answer my wife if my wife
asks me my name , just for fun.

It is not clear as to the process of checking the balance. Is it in the
app?

*THIS IS A KINDLY CAUTION TO ALL MOBILE MONEY USERS (Phone Pe, Gpay, Paytm
or any other 3rd party Mobile Money Apps.)*

There is a new technique scammer have come up with to con people called
*'JUMPED'.*

The scammer sends you a real deposit of money into your phone using his
number.

This is not a fake deposit he really sends you money a small amount like
INR.5000/- or even less or any amount and you don't even doubt it.

After sending this money he then launches a withdrawal on your number.

When you receive the message on your phone that you have received some
money the natural thing is to be excited and then want to check your
balance.

To check the balance you'll need to enter your Pin Number.

*The moment you enter your pin to check your balance means you have
validated his withdrawal request on your account.*

Your account will automatically allow his withdrawal request and take out
the money.

The trick is to just lure you with a small amount initially to steal from
you.

*To protect yourself from this scam whenever you received such an
unexpected deposit to check your balance first enter in deliberately a
wrong Pin Number.*

This will cancel any withdrawal requests then thereafter check your balance
with your real Pin Number.

With this new electronic money transfers and Artificial Intelligence coming
in let's do this all the time to avoid being fooled by these scammers who
are always coming up with new methods to try and steal from us.

*Always share such information with family and colleagues to also make them
aware and be alert.*

Shared as RECEIVED and STAY VIGILANT ‼️‼️
