My dad & I were visiting a friend of his who had a huge aquarium full
of Guppies (it was probably just a 55g, but I was little then). It
was a tank of pretty fish, but then he started teaching me genetics,
and how he was battling a disease (humpback), and how he had
determined that it was a vitamin deficiency caused by a lack of
sunlight (he had kept his drapes closed while at work). This was
starting to sound much more involved, complex and interesting, and I
got hooked.
