I am reposting this because I do not know how it ended up threaded by Google the way it did. Actually I do know, and it continues to amaze me that Google can't come up with better programmers for Groups. Sigh. Anyway, apologies for the repeat, but the other threading was not appropriate.
Do any of you have any experience or knowledge of PlusRite brand fluorescent bulbs? It is time for me to get at least two more T5 HO 39 watt bulbs (36" high output linear fluorescent light bulbs). If I buy them singly at the usual suspects, they are about $17 - $18 each. So I was thinking I might take the plunge and buy a box of 40, which yields about $6 each, although then I must store them. :-( So I was all set to buy a box of GE 6500K bulbs (40 tubes for $255) and it turns out that my supplier of choice has an additional choice. <http://www.1000bulbs.com/F39T5-High-Output-6500K/> I can get a box of 40 of the GE bulbs for about $255. Or I could get a box of 50 of the PlusRite bulbs for about $230. Ordinarily I would not let the slightly lower price sway me from GE with which I have had good experience, however, the specifications for the PlusRite claim that their lumens output is about 40% higher than the GE bulb. They claim a much shorter bulb life (about 55%) but with output decline, that's not such an issue any way. So any experience or opinions? Thank you, Jeff Walther
