No More Silent Cries (ISBN 0-9773834-2-3) is a poetry anthology that was
created
to bring forth further dialog about domestic violence and sexual abuse. It
showcases 42 poets from around the United States, including Argentina and
Nigeria. The intent of this publication is to offer an alternative way of
coping with
physical, sexual, and verbal abuse through the form of poetry. It features
national
poets, as well as writers who are just beginning their journey into written
expressions. The book's aim is to open the door to healing. "No More
Silent Cries
is about survival, reclaiming lives, and unification," says Floyd Boykin
Jr., Project
Coordinator.
"Domestic violence transcends all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic
boundaries.
Its perpetrators abuse their victims both physically and mentally, and the
effects of
their attacks are far-reaching-weakening the very core of our communities"

A portion of the proceeds of this book will be donated to a battered
women's shelter
