Four images show the skin's normal reaction to smallpox vaccine over a period of 21 days according to the Centers for Disease Control(CDC) in Atlanta. Up to 450,000 doctors, nurses and other health care workers are ready to be vaccinated against the disease when President George W. Bush (news - web sites) gives the go-ahead, the CDC said on December 12, 2002. Bush is expected to give details of a plan on Friday which calls for 500,000 troops and nearly as many health care workers to receive the first vaccinations. The vaccine eventually will be freely offered to the public as it becomes available. Photo by Cdc/Reuters
