"We invaded because they MADE us do it! Okay, time for some common sense. Why would Saddam invade Kuwait or attack Israel? Why would Saddam do the one thing that could bail Bush and Blair out of the political hole they have dug themselves into? Why would Saddam, after months of abasement to avoid war and on the even of the collapse of the new UN Resolution, now do something that cannot help but bring on the very war he has tried to avoid? This does not pass the smell test. Saddam is many bad things but he is not stupid. He knows that the longer he does nothing, the worse political life gets for both Bush and Blair. Bush and Blair both WANT an attack by Iraq. They need it. They are desperate for it. Why would Saddam do the one thing that would save his enemies? He wouldn't. Remember, it was only a week ago that UN inspectors found huge holes in the fence that separates Kuwait and Iraq and suspicion fell on UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES. Hitler (The President's Grandfather's good buddy) started WW2 by faking an invasion from Poland into Germany. It looks like the same trick is about to be played again. |
