While Brian is a patrolman he saves Mia from being raped one night after she is leaving the store on her own. The next day he comes by to check on her and they become friends. He meets Dom and they start to date, in the process Dom and the others stop doing the heists because they are tired of them and because they like Brian.
Some time after Dom and Brian have been dating Brian is found shot in the back and near death on duty. No one knows who did it, but the only person that was near was a cop.
Dom has to find out who shot his lover, because Brian didn't see who it was and he is still getting threats.
Brian was nearly paralized from the shot and had to leave the force.
