The Therion Book says that group/endgroup pairs enable the user to make temporary changes in almost any setting (calibrate, units, sd, data, flags...)
This is not in practice the case for date, team, explo-date, explo-team, and is described in https://github.com/therion/therion/issues/131 What actually happens is that these entries are applied to ALL of the shots within the centreline (as far as any outputs report), so they are not 'temporary changes'. In other words, the effect is the same if the group/endgroup statements are omitted. At least as far as I can tell with limited testing. If the presence of the group/endgroup has no effect for the above, what about calibrate, units, sd, etc? I suggest Therion should throw a warning or error if settings or metadata applied in a group block will effectively apply to all shots in that centreline. Thoughts? Bruce
