It should be enough, although it does mean the same project on different 
devices is likely to produce differing outputs.  It had been my approach with 
Windows 10, which had a reasonable number of options, amongst them d Mmm yyyy, 
which is what I prefer.

Windows 11 has, for my locale, just two options, d/mm/yyyy and d/mm/yy.

 

I did consider using an example 
http://www.alfredklomp.com/programming/tex/macros/ (section 2) that we 
discussed in 2011.  That is now in 404! land and I did not keep a copy.  

I’m an eternal tex novice and more recently an ai luddite.
