Drums & Tuba played from 9:30 to 10:30 and the Slip came on shortly after that. They played until 12:30 and then did an encore. Before the show I noticed Andrew signed Brad up for the Jambase mailing list. After a drum solo in one of the middle-set songs Andrew received a new high-hat (i think) stand and so while this was happening, Brad and Marc played appropriate 'change of high-hat stand music.' What i can remember was Intro thing > Dear Melina Get Me w/Fugi Nellie Jean then a song i get confused, it coulda been So Dope, Johnny's Tune or neither Sometimes True to Nothing evil chase music
obviously there were others but i don't remember the titles and am too tired to try to find them on cds. Some one called out for Yellow Medicine and Cumulus, they played neither. Someone else called out for Freebird. Brad said he liked that song, but... . That's when he mentioned their new cd and asked how many people had it. The humboldt crowd's always a little slow (possibly a small side effect of being stoned all the time) so only like 3 people responded, and Brad commented on that, so i piped up as the fourth person. Anyway, there as some cool machine-gun sounds during one of the jams and during the encore (i think) Brad had one of those little keyboard things held up to the mic, playing piano-like tones and later doing cool drum machine fills and a couple dj-type scratchin trades with Andrew. I noticed Marc was smiling more than i'd seen in the past. He was making eye contact with all kinds of people and smiling. I like that but when i look up all the sudden and he's looking right at me, it almost throws mah groove off! Fun show. Marc's solo in Sometimes... was ready to blow the place sky high but all the sudden he looks over at Marc as if to say, that's good enough for now. I can just see some of these new songs becoming ballistic by the time they get back over to the right coast. I asked the box office earlier today and they said 150 tickets had been sold. There were probably more people than than at the beginning, but just before midnight i looked back and there were probably just that many. I saw two guys with mic's back near the soundboard. Geez, i didn't think i'd be so long-winded. I better get some sleep! ~maura :) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Y!
