This weekend is ham radio Field Day in the US and Canada. That means
thousands of people taking their radios out into fields and parks and
setting up impromptu operating stations for a giant continent wide
slumber party and contest. I'm heading up the digital station for our
club. We'll be operating under the special callsign W4G.Unfortunately I
don't think the satellite operator is coming this year; last year he
managed to talk with someone on the International Space Station.
Visitors are welcome at most Field Day sites and you'll probably have
the chance to get on a radio if you visit one. You can find a site near
