I saw GH on $5 Tuesdays, with pretty low expectations thinking $5 (and $2
popcorn!) would be an ok amount to spend.  I felt like I knew what I was
getting
into and calibrated my viewing filter accordingly, kind of like when I saw GI
Joe (better than I expected), Transformers 2 and The Expendables (even worse
than I expected).

Much to my surprise, it was actually a lot of fun to watch.  It was basically
if
Seth Rogan's character from Pineapple Express was less of a stoner (more of an
alcoholic) and got thrown into your basic superhero origin story.   If you
liked
the humor in Pineapple Express, you'll like GH.  GH is actually a better movie.
It wasn't overly campy like the Ben Stiller remake of Starsky and Hutch.

The only downside side is that they did show a lot (but not all) of the funny
stuff in the trailers.  I know they need to do that to a degree so that people
knew just what kind of a movie it was and not expect Batman Begins.  So, if you
haven't seen too many trailers, all the better.  Although, even with all the
trailers, I didn't know that the main Nazi guy from Inglorious Basterds was
even
in GH, much less that he was the main bad guy; so, they didn't give away
everything.

I did have one 'heeeeey, wait a minute' moment in the movie, but we can another
thread with spoilers if anyone would like.

Does it need to be seen in a theater?  Meh, matinee price is worth it if you
want some mindless entertainment.  I saw it in regular 2D.  I think you could
avoid the 3D version.
