Hmm, that's a little frustrating - 2.0.2 has been working fine for me locally. Still, good to know you're able to work around it.
As for real-time indices - I'm working through a rewrite of TS (see the edge branch), which will include real-time indices support. SphinxQL is required for that, and it's the switch to that from the older socket queries that prompted the rewrite. It's still a fair way from completion, and there's not actually any real-time indices support in there yet - but the basic functionality works. README has the list of everything that's missing. https://github.com/freelancing-god/thinking-sphinx/tree/edge But yeah, it's a matter of months, not weeks, to when this is going to be 'complete'. -- Pat On 12/11/2011, at 3:11 PM, Alex Deva wrote: > Thanks, Pat. > > It's a bit strange with 2.0.2 -- I can run searchd manually without > any problems, but if I invoke it using the rake task, it crashes. > > I've resigned to starting searchd manually, because eventually it'll > run on a dedicated machine anyway, and I wouldn't want to set up the > whole app on that machine only so I can use rake ts:start. > > And in their defense, 2.1.0 is only available from the read-only SVN > repo directly, it's not even listed as a beta yet. > > Thanks for the quick action! > > On a different note, any hope of implementing real-time indexes in TS? > > Alex > > On Nov 12, 8:32 am, Pat Allan <[email protected]> wrote: >> Also, I've now updated Thinking Sphinx and Riddle to support Sphinx 2.1.0 - >> you'll need to use git repo references for both at this point, though. >> >> -- >> Pat >> >> On 12/11/2011, at 9:56 AM, Pat Allan wrote: >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >>> Ergh, they've updated the version in source to 2.1.0?
