Hi Adam

TS v3 uses SphinxQL (as you've found in your logs), but earlier versions of TS 
didn't, which is one of the main reasons for the rewrite.

I'd be open to patches for handling empty filter values gracefully - but is 
there a particular reason for sending them through?
