Problem: I have only two video resolutions on my T22--
640x480 or 800x600 pixels. I'm trying to get back to the
higher resoutions I had when running W98SE on this
machine.

Background:
I recently loaded Windows 2000 Professional and then
the SP4 update on this T22.
The install seemed to go just fine. However, when done,
I'm left with this rather clunky resolution on the LCD display.

I've gone to the IBM/Lenovo sites and downloaded the
indicated.Savage IX8 video driver for this T22 with Win2K Pro.
The Install Wizard runs to completion. When I check the
C:\Drivers\Win\Video folder, there are a bunch of S3 icons,
many for Help in different languages. I can't figure out what
the other icons represent, though.

Should the Drivers\Win\Video folder be inside the WINNT
folder somewhere, rather than at the C: level?

When I go to the Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display, there
is no evidence of the new driver being installed. I've tried
turning off the T22 and rebooting, but no change.

Several driver sites offer the Driver Detective program that
is supposed to check out your drivers and see what needs
to be updated. When I try to run it on this T22 with W2K,
it doesn't complete it's installation. Says there is a problem,
but like so many programs, doesn't give you a clue what it
might be. So I haven't been able to run DD to see what it
might tell me.

So I'm stumped. Can anyone help me?

Thanks
Bob T.
