Hi!
Now that System Update can no longer be used, I'm trying to maintain the
drivers on my X60s (running XP) current, using the X60/x60S "Drivers and
software" page
(http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62938).
I have been able to install Access Connection (5.21), Intel PRO/Wireless
3945abg (12.4.0.21) and Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate software
(5.5.0.65), but the following is causing me problems:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70477.html
Device manager tells me (under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers) I have:
Intel(R) 8281G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 27DF
Driver Provider: Intel
Driver Date: 23.05.2005
Driver version: 7.0.0.1020
Does version 8.8.0.1009 (Release Date: 2009/04/03) as listed on IBM's
site apply to my system or not?
Speaking of System Update, does it make any sense to have "TVT Scheduler
Proxy" (scheduler_proxy.exe) loaded at startup via HKLM/Run?
Why did Lenovo pull the plug on System Update, that's beyond me. Do they
believe that will save them money?
Cheers,
Dominique
