My first comment is that not all zip file creators are equal. At least once one of my users got a zipped file which wasn't readable in Windows, but I could see it just fine with unzip in OpenBSD. I've also seen two cases of WinZip getting weird and not working quite right. Reinstalling it fixed things but I have no idea why. The larger issue here is that no one is perfect, and dealing with complex systems like computers--especially Windows--is going to create a multitide of thoughts on things and they aren't all going to agree with other. I've appreciated the comments that RayBay has contributed. No, I have not agreed with him 100%, but I listen to what he says because he deals with larger quantities of hardware than I do and has a good sense of things, I think. Questioning RB because of a problem unzipping makes no sense. Wait 'till YOU have some odd, seemingly trivial problem thats driving you buggy... --STeve Andre' _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
